Expert Analysis

Specs web-verified from manufacturer datasheets · Servnet-reviewed · Last reviewed 26 Jul 2026

For most UK business buyers, the HP EliteBook 860 G11 is the clear winner, offering more display choice, a lighter build, and longer battery life. The HP offers WUXGA panels up to 1000 nits (HP Sure View Reflect) or 800 nits (HP Sure View 5) plus a 400-nit 2.8K OLED option, while the Dell Pro 16 offers FHD+ IPS panels at 300 nits with a 400-nit panel to order. The HP is also lighter at 1.73 kg versus 1.92 kg, a boon for frequent travellers. Battery capacity is another objective victory: HP's optional 76 Wh pack exceeds the Dell's 55 Wh maximum. Connectivity presents trade-offs, however. The HP has two Thunderbolt 4 ports against the Dell's one Thunderbolt 4 plus a 10 Gbps USB-C, but the Dell adds an RJ-45 Ethernet jack—handy for wired offices. In contrast, HP offers optional 4G/5G WWAN for mobile broadband. Memory and storage are similar, with both allowing up to 64 GB DDR5 across two SODIMM slots and a single SSD of up to 2 TB. Manageability is on par, with optional Intel vPro and Windows 11 Pro on both. Ultimately, the HP's display options, weight, and battery make it the more versatile choice for UK professionals, though the Dell remains a solid pick for IT environments demanding wired Ethernet.
