What changes for IT between the 18 Pro and the 17 Pro
Apple's lines for SIM, unlock, water and dust, satellite, wired transfer, wireless and Apple Intelligence are identical for the iPhone 18 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro. Between these two the choice is a hardware one, not a policy or enrolment one.
SIM and provisioning
Apple publishes the same SIM line for the 18 Pro and the 17 Pro, so provisioning is the same job on either, and both enrol through Apple Business Manager.
Unlock method
Both the 18 Pro and the 17 Pro unlock with Face ID, so one MDM passcode policy covers the pair without an exception for either.
Water and dust
