Frequently asked questions
Which is better for a large business fleet rollout?
For pure cost-efficient volume, the ProBook 4 G1i is the natural fleet choice — it shares the same Core Ultra (Series 2) platform, Wi-Fi 7 and TPM 2.0 at a lower tier. Choose the EliteBook 6 G1i for fleets that require Intel vPro (Enterprise) remote management, HP Sure View privacy screens, Thunderbolt 4 docking or HP Wolf Pro Security Edition.
Does either laptop have Thunderbolt 4?
Only the EliteBook 6 G1i — it ships with 2x Thunderbolt 4 (40Gbps, DisplayPort 2.1, USB PD). The ProBook 4 G1i uses 2x USB-C 20Gbps (DisplayPort 1.4, USB PD) and has no Thunderbolt, so if you standardise on Thunderbolt 4 docks, specify the EliteBook.
Are these Copilot+ PCs?
No. Both use Intel Core Ultra (Series 2) with an NPU rated up to about 13 TOPS on H-series, which is below Microsoft's 40+ TOPS Copilot+ requirement. They run Windows 11 Pro AI features but are not badged Copilot+ and don't get the exclusive on-device Copilot+ experiences.
Which one suits light workstation or graphics work?
Both can be configured with an optional discrete NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 (4GB), so either handles light GPU-accelerated work — the RTX 3050 is not an EliteBook exclusive. The EliteBook 6 G1i pulls ahead for sustained, memory-hungry workstation tasks because it adds more headroom, up to 64GB RAM and 2TB storage, versus the ProBook 4 G1i's 48GB/1TB ceiling. For occasional graphics work on a budget the ProBook is fine; for heavier workloads choose the EliteBook.
