Expert Analysis

Specs web-verified from manufacturer datasheets · Servnet-reviewed · Last reviewed 26 Jul 2026

The HP EliteBook 6 G1i edges ahead for IT teams valuing discrete graphics, upgradeable memory, and Thunderbolt 4, while the G1q excels in battery life and AI readiness. The G1i offers an optional NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 GPU, up to 64GB of user-serviceable DDR5 SODIMM memory, and lighter starting weight from 1.3kg, alongside Thunderbolt 4 ports and optional 4G LTE. It also supports Intel vPro on select processors for enhanced manageability. In contrast, the Snapdragon-powered G1q delivers exceptional rated battery life of up to 24 hours and 48 minutes, a Copilot+ PC designation with a 45 TOPS NPU for AI workloads, and optional 5G WWAN. However, its RAM is soldered and non-upgradeable, and it lacks discrete graphics and Thunderbolt support. For UK businesses, the G1i suits those needing maximum performance flexibility and IT serviceability, whereas the G1q is ideal for highly mobile workers who demand long endurance, always-on connectivity, and next-generation AI capabilities.
