Frequently asked questions
Which EliteBook 6 is better for large managed fleets?
The Intel-based G1i, if hardware-level manageability matters. It offers Intel vPro on eligible SKUs (Core Ultra 265H, 265U and 235U), giving out-of-band remote management and enforcement. The Snapdragon G1q is a Secured-core PC with HP Wolf Security but has no vPro, so it relies on Windows and MDM tooling for fleet control.
Do either of these laptops have Thunderbolt 4?
Only the Intel G1i has Thunderbolt 4 - two ports - so it works with the full Thunderbolt dock and eGPU ecosystem. The Snapdragon G1q uses two USB4 Type-C ports (40Gbps, USB Power Delivery and DisplayPort 1.4) instead; they are fast and dock-capable but are not Thunderbolt-certified.
Which one is the Copilot+ PC?
The G1q. Its 45-TOPS Qualcomm Hexagon NPU meets Microsoft's 40+ TOPS Copilot+ requirement, unlocking features like Recall and on-device AI. The G1i's Intel AI Boost NPU is around 12-13 TOPS, below the Copilot+ bar, so it is not Copilot+ badged - though it still runs standard Windows 11 AI features.
Will my existing Windows software run on the Snapdragon G1q?
It runs Windows 11 on Arm. Native Arm apps and most 64-bit x86 apps run through Microsoft's Prism emulation, but some legacy 32-bit software, kernel-level drivers, certain VPN/antivirus clients and specialist peripherals may not be supported. The Intel G1i runs everything natively, so it is the safer choice where app compatibility is business-critical.
