The ION 1200-C-5G variant integrates a 5G/4G LTE cellular modem directly into the appliance — eliminating the need for a separate USB modem or external cellular router. Use 5G as a primary WAN connection for locations without fixed-line infrastructure (ATMs, kiosks, temporary sites) or as an always-active failover for business-critical branches.
Prisma SD-WAN's AIOps engine continuously analyses WAN telemetry across all ION devices, identifies anomalies, predicts issues before they impact users, and recommends or automatically applies remediation. Instead of reactive troubleshooting, operators see predictive alerts: "Branch X WAN link 2 predicted to degrade in 4 hours based on current error rate pattern."
Autonomous Digital Experience Management (ADEM) provides end-to-end visibility from the endpoint device to the application — tracking actual user experience across WAN links, internet paths, cloud on-ramps, and application tiers. ADEM correlates network performance with real user sessions, identifying whether a user complaint is caused by the WAN, the ISP, the cloud provider, or the application.
ION 1200 devices ship pre-registered to the customer's Strata Cloud Manager instance. Branch staff plug in the device and it auto-discovers its configuration from the cloud — full SD-WAN policy, security settings, and application steering rules apply automatically. No CLI, no local configuration, no skilled on-site IT required.
Prisma SD-WAN's CloudBlades framework provides pre-built integrations with third-party security, monitoring, and SaaS services — Zscaler, Palo Alto Prisma Access, Netskope, and others. CloudBlade integrations activate through the cloud management platform without requiring additional on-premise hardware or manual service chaining configuration.
