Dell EqualLogic PS Series (PS6100 / PS6110 / PS6210 / PS4210 and siblings) support dates
| Milestone | Date | Basis | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| EOL Date (end of sales): PS6210 / PS4210 / PS6610 / PS-M4110 | 2 February 2019 | Vendor-publishedThese are the only four EqualLogic PS rows in Dell's sheet, and they carry no RTS date. Dell defines EOL as 'the date upon which Dell Technologies ceases selling product'. Dell's security policy gives 2019-02-01 for the family row, one day earlier. | Dell KB 000185734 attachment: Dell Technologies Hardware Release and Service Dates for All Hardware Products (dated 2026-10-02) |
| EOSS Date (End of Standard Support): PS6210 / PS4210 / PS6610 / PS-M4110 | 28 February 2024 | Vendor-publishedDell's definition: the date after which 'Standard support (Basic, ProSupport, ProSupport MC, ProSupport Plus) is no longer available'. These rows give no End of Expansion date, and the sheet has no EOSL date column. | Dell KB 000185734 attachment: Dell Technologies Hardware Release and Service Dates for All Hardware Products (dated 2026-10-02) |
| EOL / EOSS (Dell): PS6100, PS6110 and other PS41x0 / PS60x0 / PS65x0 models | — | Not published by the vendorThe sheet has no rows for PS6100, PS6110, PS4100, PS4110, PS6000/PS6010 or PS6500/PS6510. The family-level security policy row and the code-version KB statement apply to 'EqualLogic PS' generally (see the other milestones and firmwareAfterSupport). | Dell KB 000185734 attachment: Dell Technologies Hardware Release and Service Dates for All Hardware Products (dated 2026-10-02) |
| End of Security Support (EoSecS): policy row 'EqualLogic PS' (family-level) | 29 February 2024 | Vendor-publishedRow: EOL 2019-02-01, High and Critical fixes until 2023-02-28, Critical only until 2024-02-29, and 'None' after. The hardware sheet's EOSS for the four listed models is 2024-02-28, one day earlier. | Dell KB 000208328: End of Life Security Support Policy for Converged Infrastructure, Midrange and Enterprise Storage, and Storage Networking Products (modified 9 Sep 2026) |
| End of Service Life (tracker): PS6100 | 29 February 2024 | Third-party trackerThird-party tracker, not a Dell date. It comes from Park Place Technologies' EOSL library, which since the January 2026 merger also serves Service Express's database, so the two are one source. Its EqualLogic family page lists only the PS4110, PS6100, PS6500 and FS7600/7610, all at 02/29/2024. It does not list the PS6110, PS6210, PS4210, PS6610 or PS-M4110. | Park Place Technologies EOSL library: EqualLogic family (third-party tracker) |
Where the Dell EqualLogic PS Series (PS6100 / PS6110 / PS6210 / PS4210 and siblings) stands today
Those four are on Dell's KB 000185734 hardware sheet (2 October 2026 edition) with an end of sale of 2 February 2019; since their EOSS, Dell no longer offers Basic, ProSupport, ProSupport MC or ProSupport Plus for them. Their rows carry no release, End of Expansion or EOSL date. Dell's security policy puts the 'EqualLogic PS' family row's end of sale one day earlier, on 1 February 2019, and ends security support one day after the hardware EOSS: High-severity fixes stopped after 28 February 2023, Critical fixes after 29 February 2024, and nothing of any severity is provided now.
For the PS6100, PS6110, PS4100, PS4110, PS6000/PS6010 and PS6500/PS6510, Dell's sheet has no rows, so Dell publishes no model-specific end-of-sale or EOSS date; the family security row and the code statement still cover 'EqualLogic PS' generally. A third-party tracker fills part of the gap: Park Place Technologies' EOSL library, which since the January 2026 merger also serves Service Express's database, gives the PS6100 an end of service life of 29 February 2024, the same date it lists for the PS4110, PS6500 and FS7600/7610. That is the tracker's date, not Dell's, and neither the tracker nor Dell's sheet lists the PS6110. Whatever the model, your unit's own coverage is tied to its service tag, which you can check on Dell Support.
Dell's sheet attached to KB 000185734 (https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000185734) has dated rows only for the PS6210, PS4210, PS6610 and PS-M4110. For any PS array, contract coverage is set per service tag. Enter it on Dell Support (https://www.dell.com/support/home/). The KB says the support services and their expiry date appear in the banner next to a figure of the tagged device, and it also gives a 'Check Support Status' link.
What still works after Dell support ends
Firmware for the family is finished. Dell's code-version KB gives 10.0.3, dated 1 July 2019, as both latest and recommended. That release supports the PS4100, PS4110, PS-M4110, PS4210, PS6000, PS6010, PS6100, PS6110, PS6500, PS6510, PS6210 and PS6610, with a 64-bit kit (PS41x0, PS4210, PS61x0, PS6210, PS6610) and a 32-bit kit (PS60x0, PS65x0, PS-M4110) in one .zip. Arrays on 9.1.x can move straight to 10.0.x; for firmware older than 8.0.x, the release notes say to contact Dell Technical Support.
Access is the limit. Dell's PS Series firmware KB (000179250, modified 6 May 2026) says: 'You need a valid login and Dell ProSupport contract to download the array firmware.' ProSupport is among the standard services no longer available after the four dated models' EOSS, and the release notes (Rev. R9, August 2026) still direct users to 'Log in to Dell Support' for the download. The management tools are past EOSS too: PS SAN HQ 3.4.1 since 28 February 2023, PS HIT LE DT 1.7 and PS MEM 1.7 since 31 March 2023, and PS HIT ME 5.3 since 31 October 2023.
- No further PS Series firmware is coming. Dell's code-version KB lists EqualLogic PS latest and recommended firmware as 10.0.3 (1 Jul 2019) and states 'All Code Releases have reached EOSS.' (dell.com)
- Firmware 10.0.3 (released July 2019) supports the PS4100, PS4110, PS-M4110, PS4210, PS6000, PS6010, PS6100, PS6110, PS6500, PS6510, PS6210 and PS6610. The .zip holds a 64-bit kit (PS41x0, PS4210, PS61x0, PS6210, PS6610) and a 32-bit kit (PS60x0, PS65x0, PS-M4110). (dell.com)
- Dell's PS Series firmware guidance (KB 000179250, modified 6 May 2026) states: 'You need a valid login and Dell ProSupport contract to download the array firmware.' For when standard ProSupport ended on the listed models, see the EOSS milestone. (dell.com)
- Update paths: 9.1.x can go straight to 10.0.x. For arrays on firmware older than 8.0.x, the release notes say to contact Dell Technical Support. The release notes (Rev. R9, August 2026) still tell users to 'Log in to Dell Support' to reach the v10.0.3 download page. (dl.dell.com)
What a maintenance contract needs to cover on the Dell EqualLogic PS Series (PS6100 / PS6110 / PS6210 / PS4210 and siblings)
An EqualLogic maintenance schedule should start with the control modules, because the PS6100, PS6110, PS6210 and PS4210 each use a different type. The PS6100 has Type 11 modules with four Ethernet ports and a MANAGEMENT port; the PS6110 has Type 14 modules with two 10 Gb ports, one copper and one SFP+, of which only one is active at a time; the PS6210 uses Type 15, with two 10 Gb dual-media interfaces (10GBASE-T or SFP+), and the PS4210 Type 19, also with two 10 Gb dual-media interfaces. Controller memory differs too: the PS6110 spec sheet gives 4 GB of non-volatile memory per controller, the PS6210 owner's manual 16 GB.
The PS6100, PS6110 and PS6210 take 24 x 2.5-inch or 24 x 3.5-inch drives and the PS4210 12 x 3.5-inch or 24 x 2.5-inch, in SAS, NL-SAS or SSD. The PS6210 comes as a 2U chassis with two 700 W PSUs or a 4U chassis with two 1080 W PSUs, so the power supply part depends on the variant. Under firmware 10.0, groups scale to 16 members (8 with vVols), 8 per pool and 4 pools, and an all-PS4xxx group is limited to two members; list every member. Site conditions matter too: Dell's release notes correct the PS6210, PS6110, PS6100, PS4210, PS4110 and PS4100 installation guides to a 40°C (104°F) maximum operating temperature, not 50°C. See hardware break-fix support for how parts-and-labour cover works.

Extend or refresh the Dell EqualLogic PS Series (PS6100 / PS6110 / PS6210 / PS4210 and siblings)?
Extending an EqualLogic group on third-party maintenance makes sense where the hardware is healthy, the data has a planned destination and the arrays sit on a contained iSCSI network. Such a contract generally covers fault-finding, replacement parts and engineer attendance once vendor support has gone; Dell third-party maintenance explains the arrangement. What it cannot do is supply firmware or security fixes that Dell no longer produces: 10.0.3 is the last PS release Dell lists, and the family's security schedule closed in February 2024.
For arrays holding sensitive or growing data, the position argues for refresh: no security fixes of any severity after 29 February 2024, a final firmware release from July 2019, management tools past EOSS since 2023, and a firmware download that Dell ties to a ProSupport contract. Dell names no successor in the PS line, so the choice of target is open; one route Dell has documented is Thin Import from PS Series arrays into the SC Series.
- Under Dell's policy, EqualLogic PS gets no security fixes of any severity after 29 Feb 2024, its End of Security Support date. In the final year (from 28 Feb 2023) only Critical issues were addressed. (dell.com)
- EqualLogic management tools are also past support in Dell's software list. 'PS SAN HQ' 3.4.1 reached EOSS on 2023-02-28 and 'PS HIT ME' 5.3 on 2023-10-31. 'PS HIT LE DT' 1.7 and 'PS MEM' 1.7 reached EOSS on 2023-03-31. (supportkb.dell.com)
- Dell's release notes correct the installation guides for the PS6210, PS6110, PS6100, PS4210, PS4110 and PS4100. The maximum operating temperature is 40°C (104°F), not the 50°C those guides state. (dl.dell.com)
- Migration path: Dell's SC4020 spec sheet lists 'Thin import: space-efficient, non-disruptive data migration from PS Series arrays' and replication with PS Series arrays in either direction. (i.dell.com)

Related models
PS Series members differ in control module and drive layout but share one firmware line, one security-policy row and one end of code support, so a mixed group of PS6100s and PS6210s reaches the same software end point. Dell's SC4020 spec sheet links the PS Series forward to the SC Series: it lists 'Thin import: space-efficient, non-disruptive data migration from PS Series arrays' and replication with PS Series arrays in either direction. Check the Compellent SC4020 end-of-life page and the SC5020 / SC7020 lifecycle before treating either as a destination.

Questions people ask about the Dell EqualLogic PS Series (PS6100 / PS6110 / PS6210 / PS4210 and siblings)
Is Dell EqualLogic end of life?
For the models Dell dates, yes: its hardware list gives the PS6210, PS4210, PS6610 and PS-M4110 an end of sale of 2 February 2019 and End of Standard Support of 28 February 2024, and has no row for the PS6100 or PS6110. Family-wide, Dell's code KB says all EqualLogic PS code releases have reached EOSS, and security fixes ended on 29 February 2024.
When did Dell stop supporting the EqualLogic PS6100?
Dell's hardware list has no PS6100 row, so Dell publishes no model-specific date for it. Park Place Technologies' EOSL library, a third-party tracker, gives the PS6100 an end of service life of 29 February 2024, which is also the date Dell's family-level security support for EqualLogic PS ended. Your own unit's coverage shows against its service tag on Dell Support.
Can I still download EqualLogic firmware?
Dell's KB 000179250 states: 'You need a valid login and Dell ProSupport contract to download the array firmware.' The final release is 10.0.3 from July 2019, and Dell lists every PS code release as past EOSS.
What is the latest firmware for the PS6210 and PS6110?
Version 10.0.3, released in July 2019, is Dell's latest and recommended PS Series firmware and supports both models, along with the PS6100, PS4210, PS6610 and the rest of the firmware 10.0 generation. Arrays on 9.1.x can update directly to 10.0.x.
Can I get third-party maintenance for EqualLogic PS arrays?
A third-party contract for PS arrays usually covers hardware faults, with diagnosis, spare parts and engineer visits. New firmware and security fixes are outside its reach, because Dell's PS line stops at 10.0.3 and its family security schedule ended on 29 February 2024. A quote request should list each group member's model and control-module type.
