Certified Engineers.
On-Site. When You Need Them.
UK-wide field service coverage for data centres and server rooms. Racking, cabling, hardware swap-out, smart hands, emergency dispatch and scheduled visits — all with contractual SLA response times.
On-Site IT Engineering Services
Physical installation of servers, switches, storage arrays and UPS into racks. Includes rail installation, cable management and labelling to your standards.
Certified engineer attends site with pre-staged replacement unit. Old hardware removed, new unit installed, powered up and verified — minimal downtime.
An engineer acts as your hands in a remote data centre facility. Cable connections, power cycles, console access, LED checks — directed by your team remotely.
Structured cabling, fibre patching, copper patching and tidy-ups. All work documented with photographs and a cabling schedule updated to your records.
Physical presence during DR test days — attending co-lo facilities, confirming hardware is operational, validating failover procedures alongside your technical team.
Scheduled physical audit of your data centre or server room — checking power, cooling, cabling, port utilisation and physical security, with a written report delivered within 24 hours.
When Customers Call For On-Site Support
You have received new Dell, HPE or Cisco hardware and need it racked, cabled, powered and confirmed as ready for your team to configure — fast, with no reliance on an OEM installation service.
A server, switch or storage array has failed. Our engineer arrives with pre-staged spare parts and performs the on-site repair or replacement whilst you manage the application recovery.
Moving from one facility to another. Servnet coordinates the physical decommission, transport and recommission — all hardware confirmed operational before your team re-activates workloads.
Your team can't travel to the co-lo for a cable swap, power cycle or console access task. Servnet attends as your authorised representative and performs the task under your direction.
Old servers, storage and networking removed safely, documented, and either returned to you or handled through a certified ITAD (IT asset disposal) process.
How to Prepare for Your On-Site Visit
A few simple steps before the engineer arrives ensure the visit runs smoothly and minimises your downtime window.
UK Co-Location Facilities We Serve
Our engineers attend major UK co-location facilities as your authorised representative, subject to your data centre provider's access procedures.
Don't see your facility listed? Contact us — we serve UK co-lo facilities nationwide.
Remote HandsPRO-Style Services, UK-Native
Global firms like Park Place Technologies offer Remote HandsPRO field services — dispatching engineers to customer facilities worldwide. Servnet delivers the equivalent capability with a UK-first advantage: our service delivery network operates across the UK, parts are held in UK stock, and your account manager operates in your time zone. For UK data centres, this means shorter dispatch times, clearer communication, and no dependency on international logistics for spare parts.
On-Site IT Support — FAQs
Servnet provides on-site IT support across the UK from our Surrey headquarters. 4-hour and same-day SLA coverage is available across most of England and the Midlands. Next Business Day on-site coverage extends to the full UK including Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Exact coverage zones are confirmed at contract stage.
Field engineers deployed through Servnet hold certifications from the major vendors supported — including Dell Technologies, HPE, Cisco, and Juniper. They are also DBS checked and carry enhanced security clearance for access to secure data centre environments. All engineers are vetted and approved through Servnet's certified service partner programme before any customer deployment.
Smart hands (or remote hands) involves an engineer performing physical tasks under remote direction from your team — cable connections, power cycles, console access, reboots. Break-fix is fault-driven: the engineer independently diagnoses and resolves a hardware failure. Servnet provides both.
Yes. Engineers coordinated by Servnet can attend any co-location facility as your authorised representative, subject to your data centre provider's access procedures. We are experienced with major UK co-lo providers including Equinix, CyrusOne, Digital Realty, Global Switch and Pulsant.
For emergency or SLA-covered visits, call our support line (0800 987 4111) or raise a ticket via email. For scheduled work, contact your Servnet account manager or use our contact form. Scheduled visits are typically confirmed within 4 business hours.
Every on-site visit generates a written service report delivered within 4 hours of completion. The report covers: work performed, parts used, pre- and post-work system state, photographs (where relevant), and engineer sign-off. For cabling and racking work, an updated asset register is provided.
Yes. Servnet engineers can perform physical decommission of old hardware — removing devices from racks, verifying data destruction, and coordinating with a certified ITAD (IT Asset Disposal) partner for compliant recycling. A certificate of destruction is provided for all decommissioned assets.
Engineers bring all standard tools required for rack and stack, cabling, hardware installation and swap-out. This includes cable testers, fibre inspection equipment, torque drivers, and relevant vendor-specific tools. For specialist requirements (e.g. thermal imaging cameras for power audits), this is agreed and confirmed in advance.
