The Palo Alto PA-850 (PAN-PA-850) is the highest-specification model in the PA-800 Series, delivering 1.9 Gbps of App-ID-enabled firewall throughput with 24 total network ports in a 1U rackmount chassis. With 12 × GE RJ45, 8 × GE SFP, and 4 × 10G SFP+ ports, the PA-850 offers exceptional port density for enterprise branch and midsized business environments.
Running PAN-OS, the PA-850 provides the complete Palo Alto security stack — App-ID application classification, User-ID identity awareness, Content-ID threat prevention, IPS, URL Filtering, DNS Security, and WildFire cloud sandbox analysis — all inspecting traffic in a single pass for maximum performance.
Note: The PA-850 is now end-of-sale. Servnet recommends the PA-1420 (current generation) as a direct upgrade, offering 9.5 Gbps throughput and modern multi-gig port options. However, the PA-850 remains fully supported under PAN-OS and Servnet can supply hardware and support renewals.
