Dell EMC Data Domain DD3300 / DD6300 / DD6800 / DD9300 support dates
Where the Dell EMC Data Domain DD3300 / DD6300 / DD6800 / DD9300 stands today
The DD6300, DD6800 and DD9300 were released to shipping on 19 October 2016 and the DD3300 on 26 January 2018 (Dell KB 000185734 spreadsheet, dated 2 October 2026). Their later milestones then diverge. The DD6800 and DD9300 left sale on 15 August 2020, passed End of Expansion and End of Mechanical Replacements on 19 August 2023 and reached End of Standard Support (EOSS) on 31 August 2025. The DD6300 left sale on 13 August 2022 and passed End of Expansion on 9 August 2025, with EOSS still ahead on 31 August 2027. The DD3300 left sale on 9 April 2025; its End of Expansion falls on 9 April 2027 and its EOSS on 31 December 2028. End of Service Life is defined in the sheet but left undated.
In practice, three of the four can no longer take extra shelves or capacity through Dell, and two are outside Dell standard support (Basic, ProSupport, ProSupport MC and ProSupport Plus). Find your appliance under product 'Data Domain' in the sheet, in the rows 'DD3300 Appliance', 'DD6300 Appliance', 'DD6800 Appliance' and 'DD9300 Appliance'. For the contract on your own unit, KB 000185734 says that entering the service tag on Dell Support brings up its services and expiry date next to a picture of the appliance. Security dates need separate checking, because Dell's storage End of Security Support policy (KB 000208328) has no Data Domain or PowerProtect DD row and so sets no security-fix schedule for these appliances.
Dell's model-wide dates are in the Hardware spreadsheet attached to KB 000185734 (https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000185734), under product 'Data Domain' (rows 'DD3300 Appliance', 'DD6300 Appliance', 'DD6800 Appliance', 'DD9300 Appliance'). Expansion shelves have their own rows. Contract coverage for your own appliance is set per service tag. Enter it on Dell Support (https://www.dell.com/support/home/). The KB says the support services and their expiry date appear in the banner next to a figure of the tagged device, and it also gives a 'Check Support Status' link.
What still works after Dell support ends
DDOS releases are still appearing. Dell's code-version KB (modified 1 October 2026) lists 'DDOS/APEX Protection Storage' latest 8.9.0.0 (19 August 2026), recommended LTS2026 8.6.1 (13 April 2026) and minimum supported 7.13.1 (7 June 2024), but it does not say which releases run on the DD3300, DD6300, DD6800 or DD9300. Dell's software list then gives each line its own EOSS: 7.10.1 reached it on 30 April 2026; 7.13.1 runs to 30 June 2027 and is still getting maintenance builds (7.13.1.85 on 7 August 2026); 8.6.1 runs to 30 April 2028 and 8.9.0.0 to 31 August 2028.
Two limits apply. Dell's definition of minimum supported code says 'Dell Technologies reserves the right to deny warranty support' for applicable contracts when installed code is older than the minimum, so a DD3300 or DD6300 still under contract can have support refused if it runs DDOS older than 7.13.1. Download access is also unclear: Dell's Data Domain support page says 'Some resources are permission-based and can only be accessed with a corporate account', showed no download rows to a signed-out visitor, and does not say whether DDOS downloads need an active support contract.
- Dell's code-version KB (modified 1 Oct 2026) lists DDOS ('DDOS/APEX Protection Storage') latest 8.9.0.0 (19 Aug 2026), recommended LTS2026 8.6.1 (13 Apr 2026) and minimum supported 7.13.1 (7 Jun 2024). It does not say which DDOS releases run on the DD3300, DD6300, DD6800 or DD9300. (dell.com)
- Dell's software list sets EOSS per DDOS release. The 7.13.1 line has EOSS 2027-06-30, with maintenance builds still shipping (7.13.1.85 on 2026-08-07). The 7.10.1 line reached EOSS on 2026-04-30. 8.6.1 runs to 2028-04-30 and 8.9.0.0 to 2028-08-31. (supportkb.dell.com)
- Dell's Data Domain support page tells signed-out visitors that 'Some resources are permission-based and can only be accessed with a corporate account', and recommended code versions appear only after identifying the product. A browser check found no download rows without sign-in. The page does not say whether DDOS downloads need an active support contract. (dell.com)
What a maintenance contract needs to cover on the Dell EMC Data Domain DD3300 / DD6300 / DD6800 / DD9300
A maintenance schedule for these appliances has to name more than the head unit, because Dell dates Data Domain expansion shelves on their own rows. 'ES30-45 SAS' and 'DS60-3TB SAS' reached EOSS on 31 August 2026, both 'FS15 SSD' rows on 31 August 2025 and 'ES30-30 SAS ES30-30S' on 28 February 2025, while a separate 'ES30-30 SAS' row, like the ES30 SATA rows, reached it on 30 September 2021. 'DS60-4TB SAS', 'DS60-8TB SAS', 'ES40 4TB', 'ES40 8TB' and 'ES120' carry no EOL date. The sheet does not say which appliance each shelf attaches to, so check the shelf models on your own system and list each one.
Record the DDOS version with the hardware, since Dell's minimum-code rule can affect any remaining vendor cover. This page cites no Dell spec sheet for these appliances, so take controller, drive and port details from the appliance's own inventory. What third-party maintenance covers explains the general scope of parts and engineer support.
Extend or refresh the Dell EMC Data Domain DD3300 / DD6300 / DD6800 / DD9300?
The DD3300 and DD6300 are the easier decisions: both still have Dell standard support, so staying with Dell, or moving to an alternative to Dell ProSupport, is a choice about cost and service rather than necessity. Check that installed DDOS is at or above Dell's minimum supported 7.13.1, and confirm with Dell which releases your appliance takes, because the code KB does not say. Any DD3300 capacity growth through Dell has to happen before End of Expansion on 9 April 2027; on the DD6300 that window closed on 9 August 2025.
The DD6800 and DD9300 have been outside Dell standard support since 31 August 2025 and closed to expansion through Dell since 19 August 2023. Outside Dell, a maintenance contract generally brings fault diagnosis, parts and engineer visits, but it cannot settle the software questions of which DDOS releases they can take and whether new builds can be downloaded without a contract. Later appliances in the same line in Dell's list are the DD3410 (released to shipping 15 April 2026), the DD6410 (9 April 2025) and the DD9410/DD9910 (24 April 2024); the intermediate DD6400/DD6900/DD9400/DD9900 generation reached end of sale on 18 June 2025. If a refresh is a year or more away, the maintenance coverage builder can be used to request a bridging quote.
- End of Expansion has passed for three of the four models: DD6800/DD9300 on 19 Aug 2023 and DD6300 on 9 Aug 2025. Adding shelves or capacity through Dell is no longer possible on these. The DD3300's End of Expansion is 9 Apr 2027. (supportkb.dell.com)
- Dell dates Data Domain expansion shelves separately from the appliances. 'ES30-45 SAS' and 'DS60-3TB SAS' reached EOSS on 31 Aug 2026, both 'FS15 SSD' rows on 31 Aug 2025, and 'ES30-30 SAS ES30-30S' on 28 Feb 2025. A separate 'ES30-30 SAS' row, like the ES30 SATA rows, has EOSS 30 Sep 2021. 'DS60-4TB SAS', 'DS60-8TB SAS', 'ES40 4TB', 'ES40 8TB' and 'ES120' have no EOL date. The sheet does not say which appliance each shelf attaches to, so check the shelf models on your system separately. (supportkb.dell.com)
- Dell's minimum supported DDOS code is 7.13.1. Dell's definition of minimum supported code says 'Dell Technologies reserves the right to deny warranty support' for applicable contracts when installed code is older than the minimum. An appliance on older DDOS can therefore have support refused even while under contract. (dell.com)
- Dell's storage End of Security Support policy (KB 000208328) has no Data Domain or PowerProtect DD row, so it gives no security-fix schedule for these appliances. (dell.com)

The four appliances split three ways: the DD6800 and DD9300 share every date, the DD6300 launched with them but stayed on sale two years longer, and the DD3300 arrived in 2018 and has the longest support. If these appliances back up a Dell array, that array has its own dates, for example on the Unity XT end-of-life page, and the storage end-of-life checker covers the rest of the estate.
