Can both be managed and enrolled the same way?

The differences that affect IT are the SIM (one is eSIM-only), the unlock method (Touch ID against Face ID) and how long each will keep receiving iOS feature updates.
How long will each one keep getting iOS updates?
Apple does not publish a support end date for any iPhone. What history shows is roughly five to seven years of iOS releases from launch, which puts the iPhone 17 1 generation further through that window than the iPhone Duo. Plan a fleet on the older model's clock, not the newer one's.
