What changes for IT between the Air and the 17
For whoever manages them, the iPhone Air and the iPhone 17 part company on the SIM — and on nothing else in this section. Enrolment, configuration profiles and the MDM you already run behave the same way on both.
SIM and provisioning
The iPhone Air is eSIM-only and the iPhone 17 still takes a nano-SIM. Every carrier and country in the estate has to be eSIM-ready before the eSIM-only model can go out.
