About the Cisco Firepower 2120
The Cisco Firepower 2120 (FPR2120-ASA-K9) is the second model in Cisco's enterprise-class Firepower 2100 Series, delivering 4.5 Gbps of FTD throughput and 6.7 Gbps of NGIPS performance — nearly double the FPR2110. It is built for enterprise internet edges, data centre perimeters, and large-scale VPN concentrator deployments.
With support for 3,500 simultaneous VPN peers and 1.5 Gbps of IPSec VPN throughput, the FPR2120 can act as a centralised VPN hub for a large enterprise with hundreds of remote sites and thousands of road warriors. The dual hot-swappable power supplies ensure this critical security function remains available even during component failures or planned maintenance.
Running ASA software, the FPR2120 delivers 10 Gbps of stateful inspection with active/active high availability clustering — making it attractive for organisations with 10G uplinks to their ISP or data centre fabric. For organisations transitioning to FTD, active/standby HA provides seamless failover with full state synchronisation.
The 12 × 1G RJ45 and 4 × 1G SFP ports provide sufficient interface density for complex multi-zone perimeter architectures without adding network interface modules.
