The Cisco Firepower 3110 (FPR3110-ASA-K9) is the entry point to Cisco's high-performance Firepower 3100 Series — a family built specifically for data centre edges and large enterprise perimeters. It delivers 17 Gbps of FTD throughput and 24 Gbps of NGIPS performance, and introduces 25G SFP28 uplinks that are absent from the 2100 Series.

The presence of 25G SFP28 ports enables direct connection to modern data centre spine/leaf switching fabrics, 25G server uplinks, or 25G WAN handoffs — making the FPR3110 the first point in the Firepower range capable of full NGFW inspection at contemporary data centre interface speeds. The 12 million concurrent session table handles service provider and large enterprise workloads that would saturate smaller appliances.

For TLS-encrypted traffic — which now accounts for over 90% of internet traffic — the FPR3110 delivers 8 Gbps of decryption throughput, ensuring security teams maintain visibility into all traffic flows. Running ASA software, the FPR3110 delivers 35 Gbps of stateful inspection — more than double its FTD performance — with full active/active HA clustering.

The FPR3110 includes a NIM expansion slot and supports Cisco's broad ecosystem of Network Interface Modules, enabling 40G QSFP, additional 25G, or copper density expansion without appliance replacement. It is managed by Cisco Secure Firewall Management Center (FMC) or cloud-based Cisco Defense Orchestrator (CDO), alongside all other Firepower appliances for unified policy management.
