The Cisco Firepower 2130 (FPR2130-ASA-K9) is the high-performance model of the Firepower 2100 Series, delivering 8.5 Gbps of FTD throughput and 10.4 Gbps of NGIPS performance. It is the first model in the 2100 Series to include 10G SFP+ ports natively, making it purpose-built for enterprise sites with 10G uplinks to their ISP or data centre fabric.

With 3.5 million concurrent sessions and support for 20,000 simultaneous VPN peers, the FPR2130 scales to the largest enterprise internet edges — handling peak traffic bursts, seasonal traffic spikes, and large-scale remote access VPN workloads without session table pressure. Its 3 Gbps of TLS inspection throughput is among the highest in its class, ensuring encrypted traffic does not become a blind spot.

The FPR2130 includes a Network Interface Module (NIM) expansion slot, allowing future interface upgrades to be added without replacing the entire appliance — a key differentiator from fixed-interface competitors. Running ASA software, the FPR2130 delivers 20 Gbps of stateful inspection, and supports active/active HA clustering for maximum throughput utilisation.
