The FortiSwitch 1048E is Fortinet's high-density data centre leaf switch providing 48 × 10G/1G SFP+/SFP ports with flexible spine uplinks (6 × 40GE QSFP+ or 4 × 100GE QSFP28) in a 1U chassis. A 1,760 Gbps non-blocking switching fabric and 1,518 Mpps forwarding rate ensure line-rate performance across all ports simultaneously.
With VXLAN VTEP and EVPN control plane support, the FS-1048E integrates into software-defined data centre overlays including VMware NSX and OpenStack. Dual hot-swappable power supplies and fans provide the high availability required for mission-critical data centre operations. Its 144K MAC table and 8MB packet buffer support large, busy data centre environments.
