The HPE Nimble Storage HF60 is the flagship model in the Nimble Adaptive Flash Array family — designed for the largest enterprise hybrid storage deployments. Building on the same architecture as the HF40, the HF60 extends HDD capacity to 1,260 TB using six expansion shelves and scales the SSD cache tier to 156 TB — sufficient to hold the hot working sets of the most demanding large-scale enterprise workloads.
HPE's own internal comparisons show the HF60 extends the high-end performance of the previous-generation CS7000 platform by up to 65%. This performance improvement is delivered through a faster hardware platform, optimised NimbleOS data path, and a larger SSD cache that keeps more active data in flash while reducing HDD spindle pressure.
The HF60's scale-out architecture supports clustering up to four arrays as a single managed namespace — enabling growth to over 20 PB of effective capacity without requiring architectural redesign. All arrays in the cluster are managed through a single interface, with HPE InfoSight providing unified performance analytics, capacity forecasting, and proactive issue resolution across the entire cluster.
Like all Nimble HF series arrays, the HF60 includes inline always-on variable block deduplication as a standard feature. Running deduplication inline as data is written — rather than as a post-process — prevents redundant data from occupying either SSD cache or HDD capacity, and ensures the full 5:1 effective capacity multiplier is available from day one without a background processing window.
