Processor support spans the full 4th and 5th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable portfolio, with up to 64 cores per socket and 5600 MT/s DDR5 memory on 5th Gen platforms. The 32 DIMM slot configuration (16 per socket) allows memory scaling up to 8 TB — sufficient for the largest in-memory database instances and high-density virtualisation environments.
GPU and accelerator support is a particular strength of the DL380 Gen11: up to 8 single-wide or 3 double-wide GPUs can be installed, enabling NVIDIA A30, H100 PCIe, L40, and other accelerators for AI training, inference, and GPU-accelerated analytics workloads. This positions the DL380 Gen11 as a strong AI/ML platform without requiring a specialised AI server form factor.
Storage configurations are extensive: begin with an 8 SFF configuration and upgrade incrementally to 24 SFF using HPE drive cage kits, or choose 8 LFF or 12 LFF bay configurations for spinning-media or large-capacity SSD workloads.
