Common questions
Intel or AMD — which T14s Gen 6 should we standardise on?
Intel Lunar Lake (226V / 258V) brings Intel vPro Enterprise manageability, Wi-Fi 7 and the longest battery life. AMD Ryzen AI 7 PRO 350 brings 8 cores / 16 threads and the highest NPU (50 TOPS) per pound with DASH manageability. Both are Copilot+ PCs and share the chassis, docks and imaging, so mixed estates stay manageable.
Is the memory upgradeable?
No. Every configuration uses soldered LPDDR5x (dual-channel) — faster and lower-power than SO-DIMM but fixed at order time. We stock 16 GB and 32 GB; size it for the machine's full service life. If you need upgradeable DDR5 SO-DIMM memory, the ThinkPad T14 Gen 6 is the sibling to look at.
What's the difference between the T14s and the T14 Gen 6?
The T14s is the thinner, lighter one with soldered LPDDR5x and no built-in Ethernet; the T14 uses upgradeable DDR5 SO-DIMM memory and adds a built-in RJ-45 port. Choose the T14s for travel-heavy and senior users, the T14 for upgradeability and wired I/O. Both share docks, accessories and the ThinkPad keyboard.
Does it qualify as a Copilot+ PC?
Yes. Copilot+ requires a 40+ TOPS NPU, at least 16 GB RAM and at least 256 GB storage. The Core Ultra 5 226V (40 TOPS), Core Ultra 7 258V (47 TOPS) and Ryzen AI 7 PRO 350 (50 TOPS) all qualify, and every stocked unit ships with 16 GB or 32 GB RAM and a 512 GB SSD.
