Thinner than T14
Sub-1.3 kg vs T14's 1.36 kg starting weight; chassis ~3 mm thinner. Trade-off: memory is soldered, not SO-DIMM.
Thin-and-light T-series — premium 14" for fleet rollouts
The thin-and-light version of the T14. Sacrifices SO-DIMM memory upgradeability and a small amount of port flexibility for a thinner, lighter chassis with faster soldered LPDDR5x memory. Often chosen for senior staff within a T-series fleet.

The ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 is the thin-and-light variant of the T14. Same T-series positioning — mainstream business, full ThinkPad keyboard, vPro standard — with a thinner chassis (~3 mm) and lighter weight (sub-1.3 kg vs T14's 1.36 kg). The trade-off versus T14 is memory: T14s uses soldered LPDDR5x (faster but locked), T14 uses SO-DIMM (upgradeable but slower).
For fleets, the T14s typically goes to senior staff or roles that genuinely travel — director-level users, sales teams, consultants — while T14 covers the standard knowledge-worker population. Both share the same imaging, accessories, and dock compatibility, so mixed deployments are straightforward.
The Gen 6 refresh brings Intel Core Ultra Series 2 silicon with the Copilot+ qualifying SKU available, Wi-Fi 7, and the same 2.8K OLED touch panel option as the X1 line — a meaningful upgrade for the T-series line, which previously topped out at WUXGA IPS.
For UK customers refreshing T14s Gen 4 / Gen 5 fleets, the Gen 6 is a direct successor. Servnet often quotes the T14s alongside the T14 in mixed-tier fleet rollouts (T14 for general staff, T14s for travel-heavy users), with consistent ThinkPad dock and Premier Support tiers.
Thinner / lighter / OLED option for director-level users; same imaging and accessories as the T14.
Sales, consulting, field roles within an overall T-series standardisation.
OLED option gives most design QA / marketing work the colour fidelity it needs without going to X9 Aura or X1 Carbon.
