X13 Gen 6 vs X1 Carbon Gen 13 — which?

The X1 Carbon is the flagship: carbon-fibre chassis, OLED and low-power display options and lighter still. The X13 Gen 6 is the practical 13-inch — carbon-fibre-hybrid/CFRP construction, a 400-nit WUXGA IPS panel and a lower entry price. Both share the ThinkPad keyboard, TrackPoint, TPM 2.0 security and Thunderbolt 4 docking, so mixed estates stay manageable.

Is the memory upgradeable?

No. The X13 Gen 6 uses LPDDR5x-8400 soldered to the board — dual-channel, no SO-DIMM slots. The stocked build is 16 GB and the platform maximum is 32 GB, so choose the capacity for the machine's full life at the point of order. This is the single most important spec decision on the platform.

Is this a Copilot+ PC?

No. Microsoft's Copilot+ bar requires a 40+ TOPS NPU; the Intel X13 Gen 6's Intel AI Boost NPU is rated up to 13 TOPS at platform level, so it is an AI PC rather than a Copilot+ PC. If your roadmap needs on-device Copilot+ features, ask us to quote a Copilot+ qualifying model instead.

Does it fit a Universal Thunderbolt 4 Dock?

Yes — both USB-C ports are Thunderbolt 4, backward-compatible with every Lenovo ThinkPad Universal dock. The X13 Gen 6 supports up to four independent displays (the built-in panel plus three external via HDMI and Thunderbolt).
