The Intel Core Ultra 5 226V pairs the highest NPU headroom and best battery efficiency with 16 GB of soldered LPDDR5x fixed at order; the AMD Ryzen AI PRO builds trade a little efficiency for two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots you can grow to 64 GB mid-life. All three are Copilot+ and share the chassis, dock estate and image — we help you split the estate by role and quote every SKU in one order with volume breaks.

Configurations & part numbers

Every UK configuration we supply — quote any part number in your enquiry. Three stocked configurations, all 16 GB / 512 GB M.2 NVMe / Windows 11 Pro, with the 14" WUXGA 400-nit anti-glare display, 57 Wh battery, backlit UK keyboard, 5 MP IR camera, fingerprint and smart-card readers and Wi-Fi 7. The Intel 226V uses soldered LPDDR5x; both AMD builds take DDR5 SO-DIMMs upgradeable to 64 GB. Low-power 100% sRGB and ThinkPad Privacy Guard panels, higher-capacity SSDs and 4G/5G WWAN are configurable to order; the 2.8K OLED panel is available on the AMD builds and Intel Arrow Lake U-series configs, not the stocked Intel 226V (Lunar Lake).

Common questions

Intel 226V or AMD Ryzen AI PRO — which should we standardise on?

The Intel Core Ultra 5 226V (Lunar Lake) leads on NPU headroom (up to 97 TOPS overall) and battery efficiency, but its 16 GB of LPDDR5x is soldered and fixed at order. The AMD Ryzen AI PRO builds — the 8-core 7 PRO 350 or 6-core 5 PRO 340 — use DDR5 SO-DIMMs upgradeable to 64 GB and both carry a 50 TOPS NPU. Choose Intel for efficiency and fixed-spec simplicity, AMD for upgrade headroom and multi-thread throughput. All three share the chassis, dock estate and image.

Is the memory upgradeable?

Only on the two AMD configurations, which use two DDR5-5600 SO-DIMM slots (to 64 GB). The stocked Intel 226V uses on-package LPDDR5x-8533 that is soldered and fixed at purchase, so size it for the machine's full life. This is the single biggest specification decision on this page.

Are all three configurations Copilot+ PCs?

Yes. The Intel Core Ultra 5 226V and both AMD Ryzen AI PRO chips exceed Microsoft's 40+ TOPS NPU requirement (40 TOPS Intel AI Boost, 50 TOPS AMD Ryzen AI), with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage — so every stocked SKU qualifies for Windows on-device AI features.

Does it have built-in Ethernet and a smart-card reader?

Yes. Every stocked T14 Gen 6 has an on-board RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet port and an ISO 7816 smart-card reader, plus a match-on-chip fingerprint reader and an IR camera for Windows Hello. WWAN is antenna-ready for an optional 4G/5G modem, with a nano-SIM slot fitted on WWAN builds.
