SO-DIMM memory
Two upgradeable DDR5 SO-DIMM slots — unlike the soldered LPDDR5x in X1 / X9 lines. Useful for fleets that buy entry-RAM configurations and upgrade later.
The classic ThinkPad workhorse — Intel T14 Gen 6 refresh
The mainstream business 14-inch — the model most ThinkPad fleet rollouts standardise on. Less premium than the X1 Carbon, more upgradeable than the X9 / X13, with serviceable SO-DIMM memory and the full ThinkPad keyboard.

Two upgradeable DDR5 SO-DIMM slots — unlike the soldered LPDDR5x in X1 / X9 lines. Useful for fleets that buy entry-RAM configurations and upgrade later.
Same six-row backlit keyboard layout as the entire T-series legacy. TrackPoint pointing stick remains standard.
Hardware root-of-trust, AMT remote management, Intel Threat Detection Technology. ThinkShield security stack on top.
Quectel 5G Sub-6 modem with eSIM available — same modem family as the X1 line for accessory consistency.
2× Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C, DP2.1), 2× USB-A 3.2, HDMI 2.1, RJ-45 GbE, microSD, 3.5 mm combo, optional Smart Card. Built-in Ethernet matters for wired offices.
90% recycled magnesium bottom cover, 50% recycled aluminium top. EPEAT Gold target.
65 W USB-C adapter; 80% charge in 60 minutes.
The ThinkPad T14 Gen 6 (Intel) is the model that most ThinkPad fleet rollouts standardise on. T-series occupies the practical middle of the lineup — less premium than X1 (no carbon-fibre chassis, no OLED option, no ePrivacy panel) but more flexible and upgradeable than X1 / X9 (SO-DIMM memory, RJ-45 Ethernet built in, user-replaceable battery via service ports).
The Gen 6 Intel refresh brings Intel Core Ultra Series 2 silicon (Copilot+ qualifying SKU available), Wi-Fi 7, and a maximum 64 GB DDR5 SO-DIMM memory configuration across two upgradeable slots. The SO-DIMM choice over soldered LPDDR5x is deliberate: IT departments often buy fleets with 16 / 32 GB and upgrade specific units to 64 GB based on user role, rather than paying for higher SKUs across the fleet.
The chassis is aluminium top, magnesium-aluminium bottom (90% recycled magnesium) — durable, MIL-STD-810H tested, but heavier than the X1 Carbon at 1.36 kg starting. The keyboard is the classic six-row ThinkPad layout with TrackPoint pointing stick, which T-series users have been using since the early 2000s and continue to standardise on for muscle-memory continuity.
For UK organisations refreshing T14 Gen 4 / Gen 5 fleets, the Gen 6 Intel is a direct successor. Servnet quotes alongside ThinkPad Universal docks, Lenovo Premier Support uplift, and standardised imaging / asset-tag programmes for multi-thousand-unit rollouts.
The default ThinkPad most IT teams standardise on — cost, upgradeability, and serviceability optimised for multi-year deployments.
SO-DIMM memory means devs can be issued 32 GB and upgraded to 64 GB later without buying new hardware.
Wired RJ-45 + Wi-Fi 7 + 5G option covers desk, home, and field. ThinkPad keyboard for typing-heavy roles.
