The Raritan Dominion KX IV-101 (model DKX4-101) represents the fourth generation of Raritan's flagship single-port KVM over IP platform — the most advanced single-server remote access appliance in the Dominion range. Released with firmware 4.5.0 in September 2025, the KX IV-101 is a current, actively developed product with continuous updates from Raritan's engineering team.
At its core, the KX IV-101 delivers genuine 4K resolution (3840×2160) at 30fps when paired with the Dominion KX IV Enhanced User Station — the only single-port IP KVM in its class with verified 4K output. In standard HD modes (1920×1080 and 1920×1200), 60fps operation with 4:4:4 colour encoding provides the visual quality expected for managing modern servers, graphical workloads, and display-intensive applications.
The transition from KX III to KX IV brings meaningful performance improvements beyond resolution: virtual media transfer runs at three times the speed of the previous generation, enabling rapid firmware deployments and OS installations over the IP network without physical USB access to the server. The fanless design eliminates the primary failure mode of rack-mounted appliances, and the complete removal of Java dependencies means any modern browser provides full functionality without client software management.
Security is built into every layer. FIPS 140-2 validated AES encryption applies to all KVM traffic. LDAP, RADIUS, and Active Directory integration centralises authentication in enterprise environments. Optional DSAM (Dominion Serial Access Module) expansion adds up to 8 serial device connections to a single KX IV-101, enabling serial console access to network devices, UPS systems, and PDUs alongside server KVM in a single rack-mounted appliance.
