A significant upgrade from the 200-series (FS-248E), it offers enhanced Layer 3 routing (OSPF, BGP, VRRP, ECMP), larger MAC tables (32K), and greater packet buffer capacity — making it the preferred choice for demanding campus access deployments.
Managed via FortiLink from FortiGate, the FS-448E integrates into the Fortinet Security Fabric alongside FortiAPs and other FortiSwitches. Its enhanced Layer 3 capabilities allow it to serve as both an access and distribution switch in two-tier campus designs, reducing infrastructure complexity.
