Common questions
Core Ultra 9 275HX or Core Ultra 7 265HX — which stocked build?
The Core Ultra 9 275HX gives 24 cores (8P+16E) and the highest multi-threaded throughput for rendering and simulation. The Core Ultra 7 265HX has 20 cores but is the fleet-manageability choice: on the P16 Gen 3 it is the vPro-eligible part, adding Intel vPro Enterprise remote management (and, on our stocked build, 5G WWAN), whereas the 275HX configuration is offered only as non-vPro. All three stocked builds share the WUXGA panel, 1 TB SSD and Windows 11 Pro.
Can we upgrade the memory and storage after purchase?
Yes. The P16 Gen 3 has four DDR5-5600 SO-DIMM slots (32/64 GB stocked leaves two free) and up to three M.2 2280 slots with RAID 0/1/5. It scales to 192 GB non-ECC or 128 GB ECC and 12 TB of SSD. Note the platform runs DDR5 at a reduced speed (typically 4400 MT/s, or 4000 MT/s on 4× 32 GB / 4× 48 GB configurations).
Which NVIDIA RTX PRO GPU does it take?
Stocked builds carry the RTX PRO 2000 (8 GB) or RTX PRO 3000 (12 GB GDDR7 ECC). The wider range runs to RTX PRO 4000 (16 GB) and RTX PRO 5000 (24 GB, 1824 TOPS), configurable to order for heavier GPU workloads.
Is this a Copilot+ PC, and does it have an NPU?
It carries Intel AI Boost (up to 13 TOPS) as an AI-Ready Workstation, with the heavy AI acceleration coming from the discrete NVIDIA RTX PRO Blackwell GPU (up to 1824 TOPS). It is positioned as a professional mobile workstation rather than a thin-and-light Copilot+ laptop.
