Can the memory or storage be upgraded later?
Memory, no — the LPDDR5x is soldered to the board (16 GB or 32 GB, dual-channel) with no SO-DIMM slots, so it must be sized at order and the machine retires with the RAM it ships. Storage, effectively yes: there is one M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 slot, so a larger SSD is a swap rather than an addition (256 GB to 2 TB, Opal 2.0 self-encrypting). We fit larger drives before dispatch.
What's the difference between the two stocked configurations?
21J3007WUK is the Ryzen 5 PRO 7540U value build — 16 GB / 256 GB with the 300-nit WUXGA 10-point touchscreen and an FHD camera. 21J3007XUK is the Ryzen 7 PRO 7840U build — 32 GB / 512 GB, the 400-nit low-power Eyesafe non-touch panel, a 5 MP IR camera with Windows Hello, a smart-card reader and the 10-TOPS Ryzen AI NPU. Both share the carbon chassis, dual USB4 ports, Wi-Fi 6E and Windows 11 Pro.
Is this a Copilot+ PC?
No. Only the Ryzen 7 PRO 7840U build has an NPU (AMD Ryzen AI, up to 10 TOPS), which makes it an 'AI PC' that can run the Copilot assistant — but it is below Microsoft's 40-TOPS Copilot+ bar, and the Ryzen 5 PRO 7540U has no NPU at all. For guaranteed Copilot+ features, look at a Lunar Lake or Ryzen AI 300 machine, which we can quote.
Is it the current model?
It is the Gen 4 (ThinkPad X13 Gen 4 AMD, PSREF dated May 2025), an earlier generation than the newer ThinkPad X13 Gen 6. It remains a strong-value compact ThinkPad with the same chassis and security lineage; where you want the latest platform we quote the Gen 6 alongside it.
