Where the HPE Aruba 2930F stands today
No End of Sale means no HPE Aruba Networking end-of-life clock is running yet. If and when a notice comes, HPE's policy is to announce six months before End of Sale and set End of Support five years after it, typically about five and a half years of OEM support from announcement; the policy also warns that End of Sale can come earlier than published if stock runs out. Meanwhile, the old arubanetworks.com 2930F series page now redirects to the HPE Networking CX 6300 Switch Series page on the HPE Store, even though individual 2930F SKUs such as JL256A remain listed for sale.
The confirmed change is to the warranty: HPE has published that from 15 January 2027 its Lifetime Warranty on HPE Aruba Networking products becomes a Limited Lifetime Warranty, with the 2930F SKUs JL253A to JL264A, JL557A to JL559A, JL692A and JL693A in its product table. Under the new terms, cover runs only for as long as the original end user keeps the switch, and no later than five years after End of Sale, with next-business-day hardware shipment and 8x5 TAC included. Until HPE announces an End of Sale, the end date of that warranty is not fixed. HPE publishes model-wide End of Sale and End of Support dates on the portal's Product End of Life list (filter by product series), and per-unit warranty and asset records and online RMA sit in the same portal after sign-in.
HPE Aruba Networking publishes model-wide End of Sale and End of Support dates on the HPE Networking Support Portal at https://networkingsupport.hpe.com/notification/product-eol (filter by product series; no 2930F entry exists yet). Per-unit warranty and asset records, and online RMA, are in the same portal after sign-in (https://networkingsupport.hpe.com/).
What still works after HPE Aruba Networking support ends
Today the current 2930F data sheet lists HPE Aruba Networking Foundational Care and Pro Care. Foundational Care gives priority 24x7x365 TAC access with flexible hardware and on-site options, for example a 4-hour on-site, 3-year service (H1XV7E for the JL253A, H1ZT7E for the JL254A); it is a current Aruba service, not the retired HPE Foundation Care. Pro Care adds fast access to senior TAC engineers, assigned as a single point of contact.
HPE's EOL policy sets the limits that would apply once a 2930F End of Sale is announced. A discontinued product is supported only for customers who had a maintenance contract in place before the standard warranty ran out, whether bought outright or converted from new-product warranty cover; buying or renewing support is possible up to four years after End of Sale, in one-year terms ending at End of Support. Once End of Support, five years after End of Sale, has passed, TAC support and every other support service stop, and software downloads, documentation and licence management may no longer be accessible, with the original owner of a lifetime-warranty product as the stated exception.
- HPE Aruba Networking EOL policy: End of Support (EOST, 5 years after End of Sale) is the last date for TAC support. After it, all support services end, and access to software downloads, documentation and licence management may be discontinued. The exception is lifetime-warranty products for the original owner. (hpe.com)
- HPE Aruba Networking EOL policy: support for discontinued products goes only to customers who bought a maintenance contract, or converted new-product warranty coverage to one, before the standard warranty expired. New support can be bought, and contracts renewed, only until 4 years after End of Sale, in 1-year terms that end at EOST. (hpe.com)
Vendor support you can still buy
- HPE Aruba Networking Foundational Care — Listed on the current 2930F data sheet: priority 24x7x365 TAC access and flexible hardware and on-site options. Example SKU: 4-hour on-site 3-year, H1XV7E for JL253A or H1ZT7E for JL254A. This is a current Aruba service, not the retired 'HPE Foundation Care'. (hpe.com)
- HPE Aruba Networking Pro Care — Adds fast access to senior TAC engineers, assigned as a single point of contact, according to the 2930F data sheet. (hpe.com)
What a maintenance contract needs to cover on the HPE Aruba 2930F
The 2930F family is 1U (1.73 in high) throughout, but not uniform. Most models are 17.42 in wide, but the 8-port JL258A and the fanless 12-port JL693A are 10 in wide. Access ports come in 8, 12, 24 or 48 RJ-45 10/100/1000 configurations, with IEEE 802.3at PoE+ on the PoE models. The 24- and 48-port switches carry either four 1GbE SFP or four 1/10GbE SFP+ uplinks, the JL258A has two SFP+, and the JL693A has two 1GBASE-T plus two SFP+, so a contract has to match uplink type as well as port count.
PoE budget also differs by SKU. The standard 24- and 48-port PoE+ models (JL255A, JL256A, JL261A, JL262A) provide 370 W, the 740W models JL557A and JL558A double that, and the compact JL258A and JL693A give 125 W and 139 W. Listing switches by JL number rather than by port count stops a 370 W unit standing in for a 740 W one. Virtual Switching Framework stacks of up to eight members (up to 384 downlink ports) need replacements that can rejoin the stack. The switches use a ProVision ASIC and are managed through HPE Aruba Networking Central, the web GUI, CLI or REST APIs, so the contract should state who restores configuration onto a replacement.

Extend or refresh the HPE Aruba 2930F?
For a 2930F estate there is no lifecycle pressure to replace working switches now: OEM support services are available and no End of Sale has been announced. Maintenance planning matters most where units have changed hands, because from 15 January 2027 the Limited Lifetime Warranty ends when the original end user parts with the product, so a switch bought second-hand falls outside it. Network third-party maintenance can cover such switches with diagnosis, replacement parts and engineers.
The refresh question turns on timing rather than risk. Watch the portal for a 2930F End of Sale notice and budget from that point, remembering that new OEM support can only be bought until four years after End of Sale. The HPE Aruba Networking CX 6300 Switch Series is the next model in the same line, an inference drawn from the series-page redirect rather than a successor named in any EOL notice. HPE Aruba networking covers the current switching options.
- From 2027-01-15 HPE replaces the lifetime warranty on HPE Aruba Networking products with a Limited Lifetime Warranty. It lasts only as long as the original end user owns the product, up through five years after the End of Sale date, and includes next-business-day hardware shipment and 8x5 TAC. The 2930F SKUs are listed. Until HPE announces an End of Sale, the end date of that warranty is not fixed. (hpe.com)
- HPE has not announced an End of Sale for the 2930F. Its policy is to announce 6 months before End of Sale and set End of Support 5 years after End of Sale, so an announcement typically leaves about 5.5 years of OEM support. The policy also says the actual End of Sale can come earlier than published if stock runs out, so treat 5.5 years as typical, not guaranteed. (hpe.com)
- The old Aruba 2930F series product page (arubanetworks.com) now redirects to the HPE Networking CX 6300 Switch Series page on the HPE Store, although individual 2930F SKUs such as JL256A are still listed for sale. (arubanetworks.com)

Related models
The Aruba 2920 Switch Series precedes the 2930F by model numbering, though no vendor statement links the two series; HPE's EOL list shows the 2920 SKUs reaching End of Support between June 2023 and April 2024. HPE Aruba 2540 end of life covers another HPE Aruba access switch line on this site, while the server and network end-of-life checker handles other switches and servers.

Questions people ask about the HPE Aruba 2930F
Is the Aruba 2930F end of life?
No. None of the 208 Product End of Life notices on the HPE Networking Support Portal covered a 2930F switch SKU when checked on 8 October 2026, and HPE still publishes a current 2930F data sheet. There is no model-wide end-of-sale or end-of-support date.
When will HPE stop supporting the 2930F?
HPE has not announced a date. Under its EOL policy, End of Sale is announced six months ahead and End of Support falls five years after End of Sale, so a notice would typically leave about five and a half years of support. The policy notes that End of Sale can come earlier if stock runs out.
What happens to the 2930F lifetime warranty in 2027?
From 15 January 2027 HPE moves the 2930F SKUs to a Limited Lifetime Warranty tied to the original end user's ownership and capped at five years after End of Sale, with next-business-day hardware shipment and 8x5 TAC. Because no End of Sale has been announced, its end date is not yet fixed.
Is the CX 6300 the next step after the Aruba 2930F?
No 2930F EOL notice exists, so HPE has not named a successor in one. By inference, the HPE Aruba Networking CX 6300 Switch Series is the next model in the same line: the old 2930F series page on arubanetworks.com now redirects to the CX 6300 page on the HPE Store, while 2930F SKUs such as JL256A are still listed for sale.
Can I get third-party maintenance for an Aruba 2930F?
Alongside HPE's Foundational Care and Pro Care, third-party maintenance is another way to cover 2930F hardware, generally with diagnosis, replacement parts and engineers. It is most relevant to units that have changed owner, given the 2027 warranty terms. A quote can be requested through the maintenance coverage builder.
