What Tech Care is — and where an independent alternative fits
HPE Tech Care Service is HPE's current operational support programme, sold in three tiers: Tech Care Basic (9×5, next-business-day), Tech Care Essential (24×7, 4-hour response) and Tech Care Critical (24×7, 6-hour call-to-repair). Legacy Foundation Care and Pointnext contracts are being folded into it. Two real limits: renewals are quoted at OEM list, and every product carries an HPE-set End of Support Life after which cover stops.
Servnet replaces the hardware side of that contract: break-fix engineering, spare parts, on-site attendance and continued cover once HPE declares End of Support Life. We will not pretend to be the OEM. HPE's software and firmware updates, security patches and licensed feature entitlements are delivered under an HPE contract — those stay with HPE. Keep OEM software cover where you need it; let us carry the hardware for less.

HPE Support Alternative — FAQs
No. Servnet is an independent third-party maintenance provider, not HPE. We offer an alternative to the hardware-support portion of Tech Care — break-fix, spares and on-site attendance — often at an indicative 50–70% below OEM net prices. HPE's own software, firmware and patch entitlements are separate and remain with HPE. We are transparent about that division on every contract.
They stay with HPE. Third-party maintenance covers hardware break-fix, spare parts and on-site engineering — it does not supply HPE's software updates, firmware releases or security patches, which are delivered under an HPE entitlement. Many customers keep a lean OEM software contract for updates while moving the hardware support to us. We will map exactly what stays with HPE before you sign.
Yes — this is a core reason customers move to us. HPE sets an End of Support Life per product, after which Tech Care cover ends. Servnet can continue hardware maintenance beyond that date; across the industry, providers report extending serviceable life by 3–5 and sometimes up to 7 years. That figure is indicative and depends on parts availability for your specific models, which we confirm up front.
We quote against your current renewal, so the honest answer is estate-specific. As a sourced benchmark, Gartner's 2019 Market Guide for third-party hardware maintenance cites 50–70% off OEM support net prices. We treat that as an indicative band, not a promise, and we never invent a specific per-product figure. You will get a like-for-like quote before committing.
We map to the same real service shapes as Tech Care Basic, Essential and Critical — 9×5 next-business-day, 24×7 with 4-hour response, and faster call-to-repair targets for critical systems — but the SLA is built around your estate rather than fixed packages. You can run different response levels across the same contract, so production and non-critical kit are each covered appropriately.
