Juniper Care, honestly — and what Servnet actually replaces
Juniper Care (J-Care) is Juniper's own support programme. Hardware response tiers run as Juniper Care Core, Next Day and Same Day, with Juniper Care Plus adding a more managed, proactive service on top. It is capable cover — but it is priced at OEM list, renews annually, and support entitlement ultimately winds down once a platform reaches end-of-support. That is where the cost and the cliff-edge tend to bite.
Servnet replaces the hardware side of that contract: break-fix, tested spares, on-site engineering and SLAs across your EX, QFX, MX, PTX and SRX estate — often on kit Juniper no longer supports. The honest caveat: we do not supply Junos software or firmware updates or security patches. Those remain tied to your Juniper (now part of HPE, 2025) software entitlement, and we will always tell you where that line sits.

Juniper Support Alternative — FAQs
No. Servnet is an independent third-party maintenance provider, not a reseller of Juniper Care (J-Care). We offer a separate hardware-support contract as an alternative to the OEM programme. It covers hardware break-fix, spares and on-site engineering for Juniper kit — including platforms Juniper has moved past end-of-support — but it is our own service, not a Juniper entitlement.
No — and we are deliberately clear about this. Junos software updates, firmware and security patches are tied to your Juniper (now part of HPE) software entitlement and remain with the OEM. Servnet covers the physical hardware: diagnosis, replacement parts, on-site response and SLAs. Many customers keep a minimal OEM software entitlement for patches while moving hardware cover to us to cut cost.
Independent third-party maintenance typically runs 50-70% below OEM support net prices, per Gartner's 2019 Market Guide for third-party hardware maintenance. We quote a conservative headline of up to 50% as indicative — your real figure depends on device mix, ages, sites and SLAs. We never quote a fabricated per-device number; you get a costed quote against your actual Juniper asset list.
Yes — this is a core reason customers move to TPM. Once Juniper declares a platform end-of-support, OEM cover winds down. Servnet can keep EX, QFX, MX, PTX and SRX hardware maintained well beyond that point. Providers commonly report extending usable life by 3-5, and sometimes up to 7, years. These are indicative ranges, driven by spares availability for your specific models.
We cover Juniper hardware across EX and QFX switches, MX and PTX routers, and SRX firewalls, spanning current and older generations. You can consolidate a mixed-age, multi-model estate onto a single Servnet contract rather than juggling separate OEM renewals — with spares held for UK dispatch and on-site engineers where your SLAs need them.
