| Enhanced Limited Lifetime Warranty limit after discontinuance | 30 April 2031 | Derived from vendor policyDERIVED, not a date Juniper publishes. The EX Series warranty says that if manufacture is discontinued, warranty support is limited to five years from the announcement of the discontinuance. We took the EOL announcement (2026-04-30) as that announcement and added five years. Fans and power supplies are covered for only 5 years from the Start Date, and no warranty applies after the published End of Support. | Juniper Enhanced Limited Lifetime Warranty - EX Series (9060199-007-EN-Nov25) |
Where the Juniper EX2300 stands today
TSB107683, as summarised on Juniper's EX Series Hardware Dates & Milestones page, spans every EX2300 chassis SKU (24T, 24P, 24MP, 48T, 48P, 48MP, the compact C-12T and C-12P, and the -TAA, -VC, DC and -U variants) plus accessories and the EDU and subscription bundles. Juniper's published milestones follow: Last Order on 30 September 2026, already passed; End of Hardware Failure Analysis on 30 September 2027 (N/A for the EX2300-VC licence SKU); End of Engineering on 30 September 2029, after which Juniper is not committed to bug fixes, maintenance releases or patches; and End of Support on 30 September 2031, the last date for JTAC access, software releases, online tools and hardware replacement.
One further date is derived from Juniper's warranty policy rather than published: the EX Series Enhanced Limited Lifetime Warranty says that if manufacture is discontinued, warranty support is limited to five years from the announcement of the discontinuance, so treating the 30 April 2026 EOL announcement as that announcement gives 30 April 2031. Juniper's dates attach to the SKU rather than the individual switch: find the exact SKU (EX2300-48P, say, or EX2300-C-12P-TAA) and match it in the SKU column of the milestones page. Per-unit warranty or contract status comes from the Serial Number Entitlement tool, which, like the full TSB, needs a Juniper login.
Juniper dates apply model-wide by SKU, not per unit. Find your exact SKU (for example EX2300-48P or EX2300-C-12P-TAA) in the SKU column of Juniper's EX Series Hardware Dates & Milestones page: https://support.juniper.net/support/eol/product/ex_series/ . The detailed EOL TSB (TSB107683) needs a Juniper account login. Per-unit warranty or contract status comes from Juniper's Serial Number Entitlement tool at https://supportportal.juniper.net/s/serial-number-entitlement , which also needs a Juniper login.
What still works after Juniper Networks (an HPE company) support ends
Juniper treats software releases as a Juniper Care deliverable, and its service description makes every deliverable, software included, conditional on an active support contract covering all connected Junos devices. The warranty offers a second route: Juniper makes generally available software updates available to the original end-user purchaser, for use only on the covered hardware, during the warranty period, subject to Juniper's EOL and End of Support guidelines, and no warranty applies after End of Support. Once a release reaches its own End of Support, Juniper has no obligation to support it.
The main OEM contract route left is a contiguous Juniper Care renewal, starting on the day the current term expires. After Last Order there are no new contracts, no contract upgrades and no reinstatement once cover lapses; the single exception is a unit whose warranty lapses after Last Order, which can still have a contract bought before that lapse. For part numbers with a Last Order on or after 1 June 2018, Juniper keeps its Return-to-Factory, AR-5, Next Day, Next Day Onsite and Same Day RMA levels available until End of Support, 30 September 2031 for the EX2300.
- Juniper lists software releases as a Juniper Care service-contract deliverable. Its service description says all deliverables, software releases included, need an active support contract on all connected Junos devices. After a release reaches End of Support, Juniper has no obligation to support it. (support.juniper.net)
- Under the EX Series Enhanced Limited Lifetime Warranty, Juniper makes generally available software updates available to the original end-user purchaser, for use only on the covered hardware, during the warranty period. This is subject to Juniper's EOL/End of Support guidelines, and no warranty applies after the published End of Support date. (support.juniper.net)
- Juniper EOL policy: after End of Engineering (EX2300: 2029-09-30) Juniper is not committed to bug fixes, maintenance releases or patches. End of Support (2031-09-30) is the last date for access to JTAC engineers, software releases, online tools and hardware replacement. (support.juniper.net)
Vendor support you can still buy
- Juniper Care contract renewal (contiguous renewal only) — Last Order has passed. Existing Juniper Care contracts can be renewed only if the renewal starts on the day the current term expires. There are no new contracts (except before a post-Last-Order warranty lapse), no upgrades and no reinstatement. (support.juniper.net)
What a maintenance contract needs to cover on the Juniper EX2300
Because the EX2300's power supply and fans are built into the chassis rather than fitted as hot-swap modules, the spare that matters is a whole switch, so contracts should be written around like-for-like units. The rear-panel supply takes an AC cord on most models and DC terminals on the EX2300-24T-DC. Cooling differs: two rear fans on most models, three or four side fans on the 24MP and 48MP, and none on the fanless EX2300-C.
Port mix and PoE budget should be listed per SKU. The EX2300-C has 12 gigabit ports and two 10GbE uplinks, and the T and P models 24 or 48 gigabit ports with four 10GbE uplinks. The 24MP mixes 16 gigabit with eight 2.5GbE ports, while the 48MP pairs 32 gigabit with 16 2.5GbE ports and six 10GbE uplinks. PoE budgets run from 124 W on the C-12P to 740 W on the 48P and 48MP; T models have none. Virtual Chassis stacks of up to four EX2300 switches, EX2300-C included, use uplinks configured as VCPs with SFP+ (not SFP) optics, and Juniper's model table shows the Virtual Chassis licence as available on the -VC SKUs, so record each stack member's SKU and uplink optics in the contract.

| Power supply and cooling | The power supply is built in along the rear panel, with an AC cord inlet or DC terminals (EX2300-24T-DC). Fans are also built in: 2 rear fans on most models, 3 or 4 side fans on the 24MP/48MP. The EX2300-C is fanless. | juniper.net |
Extend or refresh the Juniper EX2300?
Extending an EX2300 estate on maintenance is a reasonable plan for now. For units under contract, Juniper's own support runs to 30 September 2031 with the Juniper Care RMA service levels still available, and with power and fans built in, the whole switch is the spare. A contiguous Juniper Care renewal keeps the contract that Junos releases depend on; for hardware failures, network third-party maintenance is an alternative, and what third-party maintenance covers explains the usual scope.
Firmware is what argues for a refresh. Juniper names Junos 25.4 as the EX2300's Last Software Version, and after End of Engineering on 30 September 2029, two years before End of Support, Juniper is no longer committed to bug fixes, maintenance releases or patches. Buying used needs care too: the Enhanced Limited Lifetime Warranty does not cover a pre-owned EX2300 sourced outside Juniper's Certified Pre-Owned (JCPO) programme, while a JCPO unit sold after Last Order comes with 12 months of warranty, or with cover to End of Support where that falls sooner. TSB107683 sits behind a Juniper login, so no vendor-named replacement could be confirmed; by inference, the Juniper EX4000 is the next model in the same line.
- Last Order (2026-09-30) has passed. Juniper's Juniper Care terms say no new support contracts are sold after Last Order, with one exception: if a product's warranty lapses after Last Order, a new contract can still be bought before that lapse date. Renewals are still allowed, but only when the renewal starts on the day the current contract expires. After Last Order, a contract cannot be upgraded or reinstated once it lapses, so do not let EX2300 cover lapse. (support.juniper.net)
- Juniper lists Junos 25.4 as the Last Software Version for EX2300. Bug fixes and patches stop after End of Engineering on 2029-09-30, two years before End of Support. (support.juniper.net)
- The Enhanced Limited Lifetime Warranty covers only the original end-user purchaser. Juniper aims to ship replacement FRUs within one business day of an RMA. Fans and PSUs are covered for 5 years, and JTAC troubleshooting is included for only the first 90 days. JTAC phone calls need a valid service contract. A unit bought second-hand outside Juniper's Certified Pre-Owned (JCPO) programme is not covered. JCPO units sold after Last Order get 12 months (or until End of Support, if earlier). (support.juniper.net)
- Juniper lists 'integrated power supply and fans' for the EX2300. They are built into the chassis, not separate hot-swap modules, so plan spares around whole switches rather than PSU or fan modules. (juniper.net)
- For product part numbers with a Last Order date on or after 1 June 2018, Juniper keeps Return-to-Factory, AR-5, Next Day, Next Day Onsite and Same Day RMA service levels available until End of Support. For EX2300 that is 2031-09-30. (support.juniper.net)

Two other Juniper EX access lines have their own pages: Juniper EX3400 end of life and Juniper EX4300 end of life. Juniper sets its dates per SKU, so check each line's own milestones rather than reading the EX2300's dates across. The EX2200 precedes the EX2300 by numbering, though we found no Juniper statement linking the two, and the server and network end-of-life checker looks up other hardware in the same racks.

Questions people ask about the Juniper EX2300
Is the Juniper EX2300 end of life?
Yes. Juniper announced the EX2300's end of life on 30 April 2026 in TSB107683, and its Last Order date of 30 September 2026 has passed. Units with a contract remain within Juniper support, though: Juniper's published End of Support for EX2300 chassis SKUs is 30 September 2031.
When does Juniper stop supporting the EX2300?
Juniper's published End of Support for EX2300 chassis SKUs is 30 September 2031, the last date for JTAC access, software releases, online tools and hardware replacement. Two earlier Juniper milestones come first: End of Hardware Failure Analysis on 30 September 2027 and End of Engineering on 30 September 2029, after which Juniper is not committed to bug fixes, maintenance releases or patches.
What is the last Junos release for the EX2300?
Juniper lists Junos 25.4 as the Last Software Version for the EX2300. Software releases are a Juniper Care deliverable that needs an active contract on all connected Junos devices; under the warranty, Juniper makes generally available updates available only to the original end-user purchaser, for use on the covered hardware during the warranty period and subject to its EOL and End of Support guidelines.
Can I still buy Juniper Care for an EX2300?
Not as a new contract in most cases, because Last Order on 30 September 2026 also closed new support contracts. Existing contracts can be renewed if the renewal starts the day the current term ends, and a unit whose warranty lapses after Last Order can still have a contract bought before that lapse. After Last Order a contract cannot be upgraded, and a lapsed one cannot be reinstated.
Can I get third-party maintenance for an EX2300?
Third-party maintenance is an option for EX2300 switches and generally provides fault diagnosis, replacement parts and engineers, with cover that can run beyond Juniper's End of Support. It does not change the software position, since Juniper makes Junos releases available through Juniper Care or, for the original purchaser, the warranty. You can request a quote through the maintenance coverage builder.
