Where the EX3300 stands today
End of Support is the last step in a sequence that began with a joint end-of-life bulletin covering the EX2200, EX3300, EX4200, EX4500 and EX4550; the bulletin itself is login-only. According to Juniper's historical milestone table, EOL was announced on 1 February 2019, Last Order followed on 30 June 2019, and the Last Date to Convert Warranty fell on 30 June 2020. The Same Day and Next Day Support Discontinued columns both read 30 June 2024, so in Juniper's table the faster support levels ended on the same day as End of Support rather than earlier.
Juniper dates the EX3300 per SKU, so no serial-number lookup is involved: the show chassis hardware command gives the chassis model, and on Juniper's EX Series Hardware Dates & Milestones page every EX3300 SKU, from the 24T to the 48T-BF, sits in a single row with End of Support on 30 June 2024. That row is not EX3300-only. It also lists EX2200, EX4200 and EX4550 SKUs, an EX4500 rack-mount kit and the EX-RPS-PWR redundant-power accessories, so an RPS unit feeding an EX3300 stack is past End of Support as well, dated in that row as an accessory in its own right.
Juniper publishes dates per SKU, not per serial number. Find your chassis model (for example with 'show chassis hardware') on https://support.juniper.net/support/eol/product/ex_series/. All EX3300 SKUs are in one row with End of Support 2024-06-30.
What still works after Juniper Networks support ends
Juniper's EOL policy describes End of Support as the final date for maintenance support, which it spells out as access to Juniper's support engineers, its online tools, software releases and replacement hardware. The November 2025 Care service description then sets out what follows: Juniper has no obligation to provide any kind of support service for the hardware concerned or for the embedded operating system software that supports it. For EX3300 owners that has been the position since 30 June 2024.
Software is the first practical gap. The Junos OS Software Installation and Upgrade Guide (published 8 September 2026) lists a service contract and an access account as requirements for downloading Junos OS from Juniper's site. Juniper's Junos OS dates page also says that 'for a number of EX Series products' it pushed Junos OS 12.3 and 15.1 End of Engineering out to 30 June 2022 and End of Support out to 30 June 2024, and it sends readers to each product's EOL announcement for the exact timeline. The second of those dates is the same as the EX3300's hardware End of Support. Hardware cover from that point on is the territory of network third-party maintenance.
- Juniper's Care service description (Nov 2025) says that after End of Support Juniper is under no obligation to provide support services of any kind for the affected hardware or for the embedded operating system software supporting it. (support.juniper.net)
- Juniper's EOL policy defines End of Support as the last date to receive maintenance support, meaning access to Juniper technical support engineers, software releases, online tools and hardware replacement. (support.juniper.net)
- To download Junos OS from Juniper's download site you need a service contract and an access account (Junos OS Software Installation and Upgrade Guide, published 2026-09-08). (juniper.net)
What a maintenance contract needs to cover on the EX3300
The EX3300 is a 1U (1.75 in.) switch with 24 or 48 10/100/1000BASE-T ports and four autosensing uplinks that accept SFP and SFP+ transceivers. Out of the box, uplink ports 2 and 3 are Virtual Chassis ports and ports 0 and 1 are network ports, and a Virtual Chassis can hold up to ten EX3300s, so uplink optics can double as stacking links. A maintenance schedule should list those optics and note any ports changed from the defaults, so an engineer swapping a member knows how it was cabled.
Power, PoE and airflow vary by SKU. The EX3300-24P has a 405 W maximum system PoE budget and the EX3300-48P 740 W, both delivering IEEE 802.3at PoE+ at up to 30 W per port on all network ports. Power comes from a built-in supply at the rear, fed through an AC inlet or a DC terminal block, with a Redundant Power System port alongside. Airflow is front-to-back except on the EX3300-48T-BF, which runs back-to-front, so a spare has to match the airflow direction of the rack it goes into. Hardware break-fix support for an EX3300 estate should name each of these variants rather than a generic model.

| Power / airflow | Built-in power supply at the rear, with an AC inlet or DC terminal block, plus a Redundant Power System (RPS) port. Airflow is front-to-back, except the EX3300-48T-BF, which is back-to-front. | juniper.net |
Extend or refresh the EX3300?
Keeping EX3300s on hardware maintenance is a reasonable bridge where a stack is stable, its configuration is settled and the segment it serves is protected at other layers. SFP+ uplinks and budgets of up to 740 W of PoE+ may still meet a site's needs, and break-fix cover is aimed at the failures that matter in a settled stack: a member switch or an optic.
Refresh moves up the list wherever you need ongoing Junos fixes, because under Juniper's EOL policy the EX3300's End of Support on 30 June 2024 was also the last date for its software releases. The next model in the same line, the EX3400, has its own position to check: Juniper's EX Series EOL tables, last updated on 30 July 2026, list no EX3400 switch SKU, and the only EX3400 entries there are B-EX3400-...-3S-E Sky Enterprise SaaS bundle SKUs, which reached End of Support on 20 November 2024. Those entries are SaaS bundles rather than switch hardware, so confirm EX3400 availability directly before planning around it, and use the server and network end-of-life checker for the rest of the estate.
- Juniper's Junos OS dates page says Junos OS 12.3 and 15.1 had End of Engineering extended to 30 June 2022 and End of Support extended to 30 June 2024 'for a number of EX Series products'. It refers readers to each product's EOL announcement. 30 June 2024 is also the EX3300 hardware End of Support date. (support.juniper.net)
- No EX3400 switch SKU, the obvious next generation, appears in Juniper's EX Series EOL tables (last updated 30 July 2026). The only EX3400 entries are B-EX3400-...-3S-E Sky Enterprise SaaS bundle SKUs, which reached End of Support 2024-11-20. (support.juniper.net)
- The same EOL row lists EX2200, EX4200 and EX4550 SKUs, an EX4500 rack-mount kit and shared EX-RPS-PWR redundant-power accessories, all past End of Support on 2024-06-30. (support.juniper.net)

The EX2200 (incl. EX2200-C) end of life page is the nearest match: the EX3300's row in Juniper's table also carries EX2200, EX4200 and EX4550 SKUs, all past End of Support on 30 June 2024, so a comms room running both families works to one set of Juniper dates. For Juniper switches outside that shared row, see the EX4600 and QFX5100 pages; the SRX300 Series page is the group's firewall entry.

Questions people ask about the EX3300
Is the Juniper EX3300 end of life?
Yes. Juniper's EOL announcement for the EX3300 dates from 1 February 2019; ordering closed on 30 June 2019 and End of Support followed on 30 June 2024, according to its EX Series Hardware Dates & Milestones page. Every EX3300 SKU, including the DC, back-to-front airflow and -TAA versions, carries those dates.
When did Juniper stop supporting the EX3300-48P?
On 30 June 2024, the End of Support date Juniper lists for all EX3300 SKUs, the 48P included. The Same Day and Next Day columns in Juniper's table show that date as well, so there was no earlier cut-off for faster service.
Can I still get Junos OS updates for an EX3300?
The EX3300's End of Support on 30 June 2024 was, under Juniper's EOL policy, the last date for maintenance support, which includes software releases, and Juniper's Care terms say that after End of Support it has no obligation to support the embedded operating system software. Downloading Junos OS from Juniper's site also needs a service contract and an access account, so confirm with Juniper what your account can still reach before scheduling an upgrade.
What is the next model after the EX3300?
The EX3400 is the next model in the same line. Juniper's EX Series EOL tables, last updated on 30 July 2026, show no EX3400 switch SKU; the only EX3400 entries are Sky Enterprise SaaS bundle SKUs. Juniper's EX3300 bulletin is login-only, so no Juniper-named replacement is given here.
Can an EX3300 Virtual Chassis go on third-party maintenance?
Switches whose vendor support has ended are a common case for third-party maintenance, which generally covers fault diagnosis, replacement parts and engineer visits. Describe the stack member by member, with each SKU, the uplink optics and any EX-RPS-PWR units, and request a quote through the maintenance coverage builder.
