Where the EX2200 (incl. EX2200-C) stands today
Juniper retired the EX2200 through one end-of-life bulletin shared with the EX3300, EX4200, EX4500 and EX4550 related products; the bulletin needs a Juniper login, but the public historical milestone table dates it to 1 February 2019. For the EX2200 and EX2200-C SKUs that table then lists Last Order on 30 June 2019, the Last Date to Convert Warranty on 30 June 2020, and Same Day and Next Day Support Discontinued on 30 June 2024, alongside End of Support. Juniper's EOL policy defines End of Support as the last date to receive maintenance support, meaning access to its technical support engineers, software releases, online tools and hardware replacement; for the EX2200 that day was 30 June 2024.
Checking an individual switch needs only its SKU, because Juniper sets dates per SKU, not per serial number. Read the chassis model, for example with the show chassis hardware command, and find it on Juniper's EX Series page, where all EX2200 and EX2200-C SKUs share one row ending on 30 June 2024. That row also carries shared accessories such as the EX-RPS-PWR redundant power system with its cable and blank, so spare RPS units are past Juniper's End of Support too, as accessories rather than as part of the switch.
Juniper publishes dates per SKU, not per serial number. Read the chassis model from the switch (for example with 'show chassis hardware') and find it on https://support.juniper.net/support/eol/product/ex_series/. Every EX2200 and EX2200-C SKU, including -TAA and -DC variants, is in one row with End of Support 2024-06-30. Your Juniper Care contract end date is separate, but Juniper's Care terms say it has no obligation to provide support of any kind after End of Support.
What still works after Juniper Networks support ends
Juniper's November 2025 Care service description sets out the position after End of Support: Juniper is under no obligation to provide support services of any kind, whether for the affected hardware or for the embedded operating system software supporting it. Juniper's Junos OS installation and upgrade guide (8 September 2026 edition) makes a service contract and an access account the conditions for downloading Junos OS from its download site, so record now which release and configuration each EX2200 runs. Juniper's Junos OS dates page also shows Junos OS 12.3 and 15.1 with End of Engineering extended to 30 June 2022 and End of Support to 30 June 2024 'for a number of EX Series products', deferring to each product's EOL announcement for exact timelines; that last date lines up with the EX2200 hardware date.
Documentation has moved as well. The EX2200 and EX2200-C hardware guide now ships inside Juniper's downloadable EX Series Docs Archive zip, and the EX Series Archives page notes that some EX switches have reached end-of-support. Owners who still want failed units repaired or swapped can look at an alternative to Juniper Care that covers the hardware itself.

What a maintenance contract needs to cover on the EX2200 (incl. EX2200-C)
A maintenance schedule for EX2200s has to list SKUs, not a model name. The 24- and 48-port models are 1U switches, 1.75 in. high, with 10/100/1000BASE-T access ports and four 1-gigabit SFP uplinks. The EX2200-C is a compact, fanless 12-port unit 10.6 in. wide (19 in. with brackets) whose two uplinks are dual-purpose, each an RJ-45 port plus an SFP port with only one active at a time. PoE budgets differ too: 405 W on the EX2200-24P-4G and EX2200-48P-4G and 100 W on the EX2200-C-12P-2G, with PoE+ (802.3at) needing Junos 10.3 or later and no PoE on DC-powered models, so a spare must match the variant and not just the port count.
Each switch has a built-in rear power supply with an AC inlet or DC terminals, and every model except the EX2200-C has a Redundant Power System port; any EX-RPS-PWR unit belongs on the schedule as its own line. Up to four EX2200 switches, EX2200-C included from Junos 12.2, can form a Virtual Chassis over SFP uplinks configured as Virtual Chassis ports, so note which uplinks and optics carry stacking traffic. For hardware like this, Juniper third-party maintenance usually means diagnosis, replacement parts and engineers after the vendor's End of Support.
| Specification | Detail | Source |
|---|---|---|

| Uplinks | Four 1-gigabit SFP uplink ports on all models except the EX2200-C. The EX2200-C has two dual-purpose uplinks, each an RJ-45 port plus an SFP port, with only one active at a time. | juniper.net |
| PoE budget | Maximum system PoE power: 405 W on the EX2200-24P-4G and EX2200-48P-4G, 100 W on the EX2200-C-12P-2G. PoE+ (802.3at) needs Junos 10.3 or later. DC-powered models have no PoE. | juniper.net |

Extend or refresh the EX2200 (incl. EX2200-C)?
Running EX2200s on hardware maintenance is easiest to defend where they do small, contained jobs: gigabit access at the edge, PoE within a 405 W or 100 W budget, stacks of four or fewer. There a failed unit is the event to plan for, and break-fix cover exists for exactly that; list each SKU, PoE variant and RPS unit in the maintenance coverage builder to request a quote.
Refresh wins on software. Juniper's maintenance support, software releases included, ended for the EX2200 on 30 June 2024, so a switch on a segment that needs current security fixes is a refresh candidate. The obvious next step is closing too: the EX2300, the next model in the same line, is end-of-life under Juniper's TSB107683, which announced its EOL on 30 April 2026, set Last Order for 30 September 2026 (now passed), names 25.4 as its Last Software Version and puts End of Support at 30 September 2031. A like-for-like EX2300 is no longer orderable new, so an EX2200 refresh needs more than a model-number swap.
- Juniper's Junos OS dates page says Junos OS 12.3 and 15.1 had End of Engineering extended to 30 June 2022 and End of Support extended to 30 June 2024 'for a number of EX Series products'. For exact timelines it refers readers to each product's EOL announcement. 30 June 2024 is also the EX2200 hardware End of Support date. (support.juniper.net)
- The Juniper EOL row that covers the EX2200 also lists EX3300, EX4200 and EX4550 SKUs, an EX4500 rack-mount kit, and shared accessories including the EX-RPS-PWR redundant power system (with its cable and blank), all with the same dates. Spare RPS units for these switches are past End of Support too. (support.juniper.net)
- Juniper has moved the EX2200 documentation into a downloadable archive. The EX Series Archives page says some EX switches have reached end-of-support and points to the hardware dates page. (juniper.net)
- The obvious next-generation access switch, the EX2300, is itself end-of-life. Under TSB107683 its EOL was announced 2026-04-30, Last Order was 2026-09-30, Last Software Version is 25.4 and End of Support is 2031-09-30. A like-for-like refresh to EX2300 is no longer orderable new. (support.juniper.net)

Related models
The EX2200 is closest to the EX3300: Juniper's EOL row for the EX2200 also lists EX3300, EX4200 and EX4550 SKUs and an EX4500 rack-mount kit with identical dates, so the EX3300 end of life page deals with a switch whose End of Support also fell on 30 June 2024. Beyond that pair, this group also has pages on the EX4600 end of life and the QFX5100, both Juniper switches, and on the SRX300 Series firewalls.

Questions people ask about the EX2200 (incl. EX2200-C)
Is the Juniper EX2200 end of life?
Yes. Juniper's EX Series Hardware Dates & Milestones page shows the EX2200 was announced end of life on 1 February 2019, reached Last Order on 30 June 2019, and its End of Support date was 30 June 2024. That date covers every EX2200 and EX2200-C SKU, including the -TAA and -DC versions.
When did Juniper stop supporting the EX2200-C?
The EX2200-C sits in the same row of Juniper's milestone table as the larger EX2200 models, so its published End of Support date is also 30 June 2024. Juniper's Same Day and Next Day support were discontinued on that date too. Whatever end date an old Juniper Care contract shows, Juniper's Care terms say it has no obligation to provide support of any kind after End of Support.
Can I still download Junos OS for an EX2200?
Juniper's installation and upgrade guide says that downloading Junos OS from its download site needs a service contract and an access account. Juniper's EOL policy also defines End of Support, 30 June 2024 for the EX2200, as the last date for maintenance support, which includes software releases. Check your entitlement with Juniper before planning any upgrade.
What came after the EX2200?
The next model in the same access-switch line is the EX2300. It is itself end-of-life: Juniper's TSB107683 set its Last Order date at 30 September 2026, which has passed, and its End of Support at 30 September 2031. The EX2200 bulletin sits behind a Juniper support-portal login, so this page does not name a Juniper-designated replacement.
Can I get third-party maintenance for an EX2200?
Third-party maintenance commonly covers hardware in the EX2200's position, past the vendor's End of Support, and typically provides diagnosis, replacement parts and engineers. For network third-party maintenance on these switches, list each SKU, including PoE and DC variants, the EX2200-C units and any EX-RPS-PWR, when you ask for a quote.
