Dell PowerEdge R350 end of life

The PowerEdge R350 carries no model-wide end-of-life date from Dell, which does not give PowerEdge servers model-wide end-of-sale or end-of-service-life dates; each R350's support runs to the date held against its own Service Tag. Unlike 14G servers, this 15G model has no announced iDRAC9 end dates, and Dell's May 2026 ESXi 9.x matrix still lists it for ESXi 9.0 and 9.1.

Every row names its basis. A third-party tracker date is not the vendor’s own, and “not published” means exactly that.

Where the PowerEdge R350 stands today

None of the Dell sources checked for this page sets a retirement date for the R350. Dell's end-of-life product list (KB 000185734), in its 2 October 2026 version, has no R350 row. Its iDRAC9 support guide (KB 000178016) gives feature-development and maintenance dates only for 14G servers, and none for 15G systems such as the R350. Dell has published an R360 Technical Guide that compares the R360 with the R350, which tells you a later model exists but puts no date on this one.

The date that applies to your server is the one Dell holds against its Service Tag. Enter the tag in Dell's warranty and contract lookup to see coverage status and expiration (Dell KB 000132024). Dell takes renewal requests through its extend-warranty form, with two caveats: renewals are not available in all countries, and a reseller-supplied R350 may have to be renewed through the reseller. Dell's R350 Technical Guide (Rev A06, June 2023) also lists ProSupport Plus for Enterprise and ProSupport for Enterprise, under the old 'Dell EMC' naming, and whether either can still be bought for a given unit depends on its Service Tag.

Finding the date for your own unit

Dell ties warranty and contract end dates to each server's Service Tag and publishes no model-wide date. Enter the Service Tag at https://www.dell.com/support/contractservices/ to see coverage status and expiration (Dell KB 000132024: https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-gb/000132024). Renewals are requested at https://www.dell.com/support/incidents-online/email/extend-warranty. They are not available in all countries, and units bought through a reseller may need to be renewed through that reseller.

What still works after Dell support ends

Dell's written download policy covers the R350 as it does other Dell servers: 'All drivers and firmware for Dell servers are available to download for free on the Dell Support website,' and 'Released iDRAC firmware updates are available regardless of support contract.' On 8 October 2026 the UK drivers page for the R350 offered iDRAC firmware 7.30.30.54 on the 7.30.x branch ('Urgent', dated 21 August 2026) and the shared R350/R250/T350/T150 BIOS at version 1.18.1 (Recommended, dated 30 September 2026).

Two details help when patching. Dell's iDRAC9 versions KB (000178115, last modified 10 September 2026) still maps the R350 to 7.20.80.50 from December 2025, so the drivers page is the better guide to the current build. The R350's iDRAC also sits apart from 14G servers, which use the separate 7.00.00.x maintenance branch, and the 14G iDRAC9 dates in Dell's guide do not extend to it; Dell has announced no 15G equivalents. For hardware, Dell warranty renewal covers Dell-branded repairs or replacement parts where it is offered, and an alternative to Dell ProSupport sets out the third-party route.

Whether they can be bought for a given unit today depends on its Service Tag. (delltechnologies.com)

What a maintenance contract needs to cover on the PowerEdge R350

Two redundant hot-swap power supplies, either 600 W Platinum Mixed Mode (100–240 V AC or 240 V DC) or 700 W Titanium Mixed Mode (200–240 V AC or 240 V DC), mean a contract should record both the rating and the input range fitted. The drive bays take up to eight 2.5-inch or four 3.5-inch SAS/SATA HDDs or SSDs, and a rear-access, hot-plug BOSS-S2 module sits apart from those bays, so it needs its own line on the asset list.

Controller options are the PERC H355, H345 or H755, or an HBA355i, plus front 'f' variants, with the HBA355e for external storage and S150 software RAID. One of the three PCIe Gen4 slots is an x4 slot reserved for a dedicated PERC. Memory is four DDR4 UDIMM slots, unregistered DIMMs only, to 128 GB at up to 3200 MT/s, and the processor is a single Xeon E-2300 (up to 8 cores) or a Pentium (up to 2 cores). The iDRAC9 with Lifecycle Controller, in Express, Enterprise or Datacenter form, completes the inventory. Server third-party maintenance generally covers diagnosis, replacement parts and engineer visits for a configuration like this, and a quote can be requested once the parts are listed.

Extend or refresh the PowerEdge R350?

For an R350, staying on maintenance is the natural starting point. Dell's ESXi 9.x matrix (Rev A03, May 2026) lists it with Xeon E-23xx CPUs for ESXi 9.0 and 9.1, the December 2025 Windows matrix rates it Qualified for Windows Server 2022 and 2019 in Essentials and Standard editions, and new iDRAC and BIOS builds appeared in August and September 2026. With no model date from Dell, the question once a unit's warranty ends is who maintains it.

Two gaps can still tip the decision towards refresh. The Windows matrix has no Windows Server 2025 entry for the R350, even though 15G models such as the R450 and R650 are Qualified for it. The same document says Secured-core support starts at 15G but is 'Not supported for Intel Rocket Lake CPU based servers (R350, R250, T350 & T150)'. If either Windows Server 2025 or Secured-core is a requirement, Dell's matrix gives no basis for meeting it on an R350. The PowerEdge R360 is the next model in the same line, but the Dell sources for this page do not give its Windows Server 2025 or Secured-core status, so confirm both before choosing it; it also moves to DDR5 ECC UDIMMs (up to 4400 MT/s) and Xeon E-2400 or Xeon 6300 CPUs, so R350 DDR4 memory does not carry over.

  • Windows Server: Dell's LTSC support matrix (PDF dated Dec 2025) lists the R350 for Windows Server 2022 Essentials and Standard (Qualified) and Windows Server 2019 Essentials and Standard (Qualified). It has no Windows Server 2025 entry for the R350, although 15G models such as the R450 and R650 are Qualified for Windows Server 2025. (dl.dell.com)
  • Secured-core: Dell's Windows matrix says Secured-core support starts at 15G but is 'Not supported for Intel Rocket Lake CPU based servers (R350, R250, T350 & T150)'. (dl.dell.com)
  • VMware: Dell's ESXi 9.x compatibility matrix (Rev A03, May 2026) lists the R350 (Xeon E-23xx) for ESXi 9.0 and 9.1. (dl.dell.com)
  • iDRAC9: on 8 Oct 2026, Dell's UK drivers page for the R350 offered iDRAC firmware 7.30.30.54 ('Urgent', dated 21 Aug 2026), on the 7.30.x branch. Dell's iDRAC9 versions KB 000178115 (last modified 10 Sep 2026) still maps the R350 to 7.20.80.50 (December 2025), so that KB lags the download page. The 14G servers sit on the separate 7.00.00.x maintenance branch. (dell.com)
  • BIOS: on 8 Oct 2026, Dell's UK drivers page for the R350 offered 'Dell Server PowerEdge BIOS R350/R250/T350/T150' version 1.18.1 (Recommended, dated 30 Sep 2026). One BIOS package covers the R350, R250, T350 and T150. (dell.com)
  • Refresh: the successor R360 moves to DDR5 ECC UDIMMs (up to 4400 MT/s) and Xeon E-2400 / Xeon 6300 CPUs, so R350 DDR4 memory does not carry over. (delltechnologies.com)

The R350 was announced on 7 October 2021 with the T150, T350 and R250, according to The Register's report the following day, which gave no availability date. The four share one BIOS package and the same Secured-core exclusion in Dell's Windows matrix. Dell's R350 Technical Guide compares it with the R340, which Dell's Info Hub calls the 'previous-generation PowerEdge R340'. Because Dell handles every PowerEdge server by Service Tag, the same check applies across a mixed estate; for the rest of the estate, start from the server end-of-life checker.

Each bar runs from release to the milestone that marks end of support for the model as a whole. Amber bars end on a third-party tracker's date, not the vendor's. A dashed open end means no end date is published — not that support is indefinite. Component and accessory dates (a management controller, a power module) are not treated as the model's.

Questions people ask about the PowerEdge R350

Is the Dell PowerEdge R350 end of life?

Dell has given it no model-wide date, and the R350 has no row in the 2 October 2026 version of Dell's end-of-life product list. Each unit is covered to the date recorded against its Service Tag, and Dell has announced no iDRAC9 end dates for 15G servers.

Does the R350 support ESXi 9 and Windows Server 2025?

Dell's May 2026 ESXi 9.x matrix lists the R350 for ESXi 9.0 and 9.1. Dell's December 2025 Windows matrix lists it as Qualified for Windows Server 2019 and 2022 Essentials and Standard, but has no Windows Server 2025 entry for it.

Does the PowerEdge R350 support Secured-core server?

Not according to Dell's Windows Server matrix, which says Secured-core support starts at 15G but is 'Not supported for Intel Rocket Lake CPU based servers (R350, R250, T350 & T150)'. If Secured-core is a policy requirement, plan for different hardware.

What came after the R350?

The PowerEdge R360 is the next model in the same line, and Dell's R360 Technical Guide compares the two. The R360 uses DDR5 ECC UDIMMs and Xeon E-2400 or Xeon 6300 CPUs, so memory from an R350 does not carry over.

Can I get third-party maintenance for an R350?

A third-party contract generally supplies diagnosis, replacement parts and engineer visits, and it can carry on beyond the end of Dell cover. For an R350 the quote should list the PSU ratings, the drive layout, the BOSS-S2 module and the PERC or HBA fitted, and you can use the maintenance coverage builder to ask for one.
