Where the PowerEdge T330 stands today
Three Dell sources bear on the T330, and none dates the model. The Windows Server OS support matrix of December 2025 places it in the '13G and older discontinued platforms' table. The Secure Boot certificate KB says 12th and 13th generation platforms 'will not receive updates due to end-of-service status', without naming the T330. A February 2025 Dell staff forum reply put the end of published EOL and EOSL dates at 'about the 13th generation', a forum answer rather than formal policy. The dated entries concern the iDRAC8 built into the T330, with End of Sale in December 2021 and End of Software Maintenance in February 2024; both are component dates, not the T330's end of support.
Support for a given T330 follows its Service Tag, which sits with the Express Service Code on the information tag that pulls out from the front of the tower, as the T330 Owner's Manual describes; the manual adds that it may be on a sticker on the chassis instead. Dell's contract-services page (dell.com/support/contractservices) then shows that tower's warranty status and expiry. Renewal requests go through Dell's extend-warranty form; Dell's warranty KB warns that renewals are not offered in every country, and that a tower bought from a reseller partner may need renewing through that partner.
Dell ties support to each unit's Service Tag, not to the model. The T330 Owner's Manual says the Service Tag and Express Service Code are found on the front of the system by pulling out the information tag, or may be on a sticker on the chassis (https://dl.dell.com/topicspdf/poweredge-t330_owners-manual_en-us.pdf). Enter the Service Tag at https://www.dell.com/support/contractservices/ to see warranty status and expiry date. To ask about renewal, use https://www.dell.com/support/incidents-online/email/extend-warranty. Dell says 'Warranty Renewals are not available in all countries', and 'If you have purchased your products through a reseller partner, you may need to contact the reseller for renewal' (Dell KB 000132024: https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000132024).
What still works after Dell support ends
Dell's public advisory DSA-2024-006 names the T330: for CVE-2024-0161 it lists T330 BIOS versions prior to 2.20.0 as affected and 2.20.0 or later as the remediation. Dell's server driver and firmware downloads are free, by Dell's own statement, and released iDRAC firmware is available 'regardless of support contract', ending at 2.86.86.86 for iDRAC8. Past February 2024, Dell is under no obligation to maintain or repair iDRAC8 firmware.
Some updates will not arrive at all. Dell will not issue Secure Boot certificate BIOS updates for 13G platforms. The Microsoft Secure Boot 2011 certificates, which Dell said would begin expiring in June 2026, do not stop an installed OS from booting by Dell's account, though Dell lists potential boot failures if BIOS defaults are reset or Secure Boot is disabled. Monitoring changes too: the final OpenManage Server Administrator release, on 30 September 2024, covers only 14th to 16th generation servers, and the route Dell points to is iDRAC with the iDRAC Service Module.
- Dell says PowerEdge drivers and firmware are free to download: 'All drivers and firmware for Dell servers are available to download for free on the Dell Support website.' (KB 'PowerEdge: Methods and Steps to Update Firmware and Drivers', modified 31 Aug 2026.) (dell.com)
- iDRAC8: 'Released iDRAC firmware updates are available regardless of support contract.' Dell: 'The last release of iDRAC8 firmware is version 2.86.86.86.' Dell has no obligation to fix iDRAC8 firmware after February 2024. (dell.com)
- Dell security advisories are public. DSA-2024-006 (CVE-2024-0161; revision 1.0 initial release 2024-03-12, latest revision 7.0 of 2025-06-30) lists PowerEdge T330 BIOS 'Versions prior to 2.20.0' as affected and 'Version 2.20.0 or later' as the remediation. (dell.com)
- No Secure Boot certificate BIOS update is coming for 13G. Dell: '12th and 13th Generation Server platforms will not receive updates due to end-of-service status.' Dell's 'Server BIOS Update Guidelines for Microsoft Secure Boot Certificates' (KB 000402373, https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000402373) covers 14th to 16th generation servers only and has no T330 row. What a maintenance contract needs to cover on the PowerEdge T330
Start with the power build, because the T330 comes in two. Dell offers either up to two 495 W Platinum redundant supplies or a single 350 W Bronze non-redundant one, and notes that 'Non-redundant PSU is supported in systems with an x8 backplane.' A single-PSU tower has no supply redundancy for a service level to rely on, so record which build each Service Tag has.
Storage is the other large block: up to eight (or four) 3.5-inch hot-swap SATA or nearline SAS drives, with 2.5-inch SAS and SATA SSD drives in 3.5-inch carriers, behind a PERC S130, H330, H730 or H830, plus up to two optional 5.25-inch tape drives that a contract should either name or exclude. Dell's tower-to-rack conversion uses a kit with rack ears, a VGA module for the rack-mode control panel and optional rails, and the front video connector is available only in the rack-mode configuration. Then list memory (four DDR4 UDIMM sockets, 64 GB maximum), the single processor, four full-height PCIe 3.0 slots, two 10/100/1000 Mbps ports and iDRAC8. Server third-party maintenance contracts generally provide diagnosis, replacement parts and engineer visits; this component list sets what they apply to.

| Expansion and network | 4 x full-height PCIe 3.0 slots (two to the processor, two to the PCH); two 10/100/1000 Mbps NIC ports | dl.dell.com |
| Management controller | iDRAC8 with Lifecycle Controller (iDRAC8 Express default, iDRAC8 Enterprise upgrade; optional 8 GB/16 GB vFlash) | i.dell.com |
Extend or refresh the PowerEdge T330?
A T330 is a reasonable candidate for extension when it has the redundant 495 W pair and a BIOS at 2.20.0 or later, and when its role does not depend on a newer hypervisor or Windows Server release. Look up the Service Tag first to see whether any Dell warranty remains on that unit.
Software support is the case for refresh. In Dell's Windows Server matrix the T330 row has ticks under 2019 and 2016 Essentials and Standard, but no 'Support Level' is filled in for either version, and by the matrix's own notes a blank there means no support; the 'Qualified' level is given only for Windows Server 2012 R2 and 2012. No Windows Server 2022 or 2025 column exists in the 13G table. Dell's T330 supported-OS page goes up to ESXi 6.7, whose End of General Support Broadcom gives as 15 October 2022, and the T330 is not in the 13G table of Dell's vSphere 7.x matrix. With Intel ARK showing the example Xeon E3-1220 v5 and v6 past their End of Servicing Updates dates (30 September 2022 and 31 March 2024), the PowerEdge T340, the next model in the same line, or an alternative specced in the refurbished PowerEdge configurator is the safer route for exposed workloads.
- Power redundancy depends on the build. The T330 takes either two 495 W redundant PSUs or one 350 W non-redundant PSU (Dell's spec sheet: '1 x 350W cabled PSU or up to 2 x 495W redundant PSUs'). A single-PSU unit has no PSU redundancy for a maintenance SLA to rely on. (dl.dell.com)
- Rack conversion: the T330 Owner's Manual has a tower-to-rack conversion procedure (conversion kit with rack ears, a VGA module for the rack-mode control panel and optional rails) and notes that the front video connector is available only in the rack-mode configuration. (dl.dell.com)
- Windows Server: Dell's LTSC matrix (Dec 2025) lists the T330 under '13G and older discontinued platforms'. It ticks the Windows Server 2019 and 2016 Essentials and Standard edition columns (not Datacenter) and the Windows Server 2012 R2/2012 Essentials and Standard columns. Only the Windows Server 2012 R2 and 2012 'Support Level' cells read 'Qualified'; the 2019 and 2016 'Support Level' cells are blank, and the matrix notes say 'Blank cells indicate no support.' The 13G table has no Windows Server 2022 or 2025 columns, and the matrix says Windows Server 2022 and later require TPM 2.0, UEFI and Secure Boot. (dl.dell.com)
- Microsoft lists Windows Server 2019's Extended End Date as '1/10/2029 6:59:59 AM' (US month/day order, i.e. 10 January 2029 as displayed). Windows Server 2019 is the newest Windows Server in Dell's 13G matrix table and on Dell's T330 supported-OS page. (learn.microsoft.com)
- VMware: Dell's T330 supported-OS page goes up to VMware ESXi 6.7. The T330 is not in the 13G (yx3x) table of Dell's vSphere 7.x compatibility matrix (Rev. A14, June 2024; https://dl.dell.com/topicspdf/vmware-esxi-7x_compatibility-matrix_en-us.pdf). (dell.com)
- Broadcom: 'The End of General Support for vSphere ESXi/vCenter 6.5,6.7 or vSphere vSAN 6.5, 6.6 and 6.7 is October 15, 2022'. (knowledge.broadcom.com)
- Secure Boot: Dell says 'Microsoft Secure Boot 2011 certificates begin expiring in June 2026' and '12th and 13th Generation Server platforms will not receive updates due to end-of-service status'. Dell: 'Expired certificates do not impact an already installed OS—those systems continue to boot'. Among the effects of expired certificates Dell lists 'Inability to receive Secure Boot-related updates' and 'Potential boot failures if Secure Boot is disabled or BIOS defaults are reset'. (dell.com)
- OMSA had its final release on 30 September 2024, and Dell says 'the last OMSA release only supports 14th, 15th, and 16th-Generation servers', so 13G is excluded. Dell points to iDRAC with the iDRAC Service Module (iSM) instead. (dell.com)
- CPU microcode servicing (v5): Intel ARK shows the Xeon E3-1220 v5, an example E3-1200 v5 SKU, with servicing status 'End of Servicing Lifetime' and an End of Servicing Updates date of 30 September 2022. Check the ARK page for the exact SKU installed. (intel.com)
- CPU microcode servicing (v6): Intel ARK shows the Xeon E3-1220 v6, an example E3-1200 v6 SKU, with servicing status 'End of Servicing Updates' and an End of Servicing Updates date of 31 March 2024. Check the ARK page for the exact SKU installed. (intel.com)
- Warranty length: a Dell support-community staff reply (2 Oct 2025) says 'it is pretty standard that a server can be warrantied up to 5 years from the ship date' and 'That can be extended on some basis, but that is based on part availability.' This is a forum answer, not a policy document. (dell.com)

Related models
Dell's spec sheet pitched the T330 against the previous-generation PowerEdge T320, claiming '2x IOPS performance with T330/PERC9' compared with the T320/PERC8. Dell's 'Servers by generation' KB has the T330 as a 13G Intel compute system with iDRAC8, so the generation-wide wording applies to it. For other 13G towers under the same undated wording, see PowerEdge T630 end of life and PowerEdge T430 end of life, each with its own hardware to cover.

Questions people ask about the PowerEdge T330
Is the PowerEdge T330 end of life?
Dell gives no model-wide answer. It publishes no end-of-life date for the T330 as a whole; the undated signals are the T330's listing under '13G and older discontinued platforms' in Dell's Windows Server matrix and Dell's description of 13G as being in 'end-of-service status'. Your own tower's position comes from its Service Tag.
When does Dell support end for my T330?
It depends on the unit. Dell links warranty and support to each Service Tag, so enter yours at Dell's contract-services page to see the expiry date. The only fixed Dell dates in this area belong to the iDRAC8 controller (End of Sale in December 2021, End of Software Maintenance in February 2024), not to the T330 as a whole.
Can a Dell T330 be rack-mounted?
Yes. The T330 Owner's Manual includes a tower-to-rack conversion procedure using a kit with rack ears, a VGA module for the rack-mode control panel and optional rails, and Dell's spec sheet describes the server as 5U when racked. The front video connector is only available in the rack-mode configuration.
What came after the PowerEdge T330?
The PowerEdge T340 is the next model in the same line. Before the T330 came the PowerEdge T320, which Dell's T330 spec sheet uses as its previous-generation point of comparison. Either way, the Service Tag on your T330 still sets its own support position, and alternatives can be compared among refurbished Dell PowerEdge servers.
Can I get third-party maintenance for a PowerEdge T330?
Cover from a third-party maintainer generally consists of diagnosis, replacement parts and engineer visits, and it can continue once a unit's Dell warranty has ended. For an accurate quote on a T330, state the PSU build, drive count, PERC model and whether tape drives are fitted. A quote can be requested through the maintenance coverage builder.
