ProLiant DL360 Gen10 end of life

The ProLiant DL360 Gen10 has no end-of-support date from HPE for the model as a whole: the 31 January 2028 'End of Support' entry you may find is a third-party tracker's (eosl.date), and HPE's own dated milestones stop at a discontinuation (DISC) date of 20 May 2026, now passed. Support for a particular DL360 runs to the dates HPE holds against its serial number.

Every row names its basis. A third-party tracker date is not the vendor’s own, and “not published” means exactly that.

Where the ProLiant DL360 Gen10 stands today

Product Change Notification a00139049 put the DL360 Gen10, together with the DL380 Gen10, into HPE's end-of-life process on 1 May 2024. HPE revised the DL360's DISC date many times between version 5 (20 December 2024) and version 12 (19 May 2026), and version 12 sets it at 20 May 2026 for the server and its CTO SKUs P19765-B21 (4LFF), P19766-B21 (8SFF), P19768-B21 (4LFF TAA), P19769-B21 (8SFF TAA) and P56949-B21 (8SFF BC). HPE defines DISC as the date after which orders are accepted or fulfilled based on factory inventory availability. An obsolescence (OBSO) date was added in August 2024 and removed that October, so none is published, and the retired QuickSpecs (V74, 18 May 2026) call the base products obsolete and no longer available for sale.

None of those milestones is an end of support. HPE sets coverage unit by unit, and a DL360 Gen10 ordered shortly before DISC may still be inside the standard three-year parts, labour and onsite warranty with next-business-day response. To read your own dates, sign in to HPE Support Center Warranty Check and submit the serial number from the product label; each service type appears with its effective dates and a status of Active, Expiring Soon (under 90 days), Expired or Active in Future. Expiry follows the purchase date if the server was registered with HPE, and is otherwise estimated from the manufacture date. The eosl.date figure of 31 January 2028 falls less than two years after DISC, so treat it with caution; no Park Place EOSL page was found for the standard DL360 Gen10.

Finding the date for your own unit

HPE sets support end dates per unit, not per model. Use HPE Support Center Warranty Check at https://support.hpe.com/connect/s/?card=wc. Sign in to the HPE Support Center, enter the serial number from the product label and click Submit. The results show each service type with its effective dates for current, past and future support, plus a status: 'Active' (end date more than 90 days away), 'Expiring Soon' (less than 90 days), 'Expired' (end date passed less than a year ago) or 'Active in Future'. HPE says a warranty's expiry date is based on the purchase date if the product was registered with HPE; otherwise it is estimated from the manufacture date. What still works after HPE support ends

System ROM/BIOS and SPP downloads for the DL360 Gen10 do not need a warranty. HPE notice a00094704 (version 2, 13 January 2025) says entitlement verification is no longer required to download Gen10 SPPs from 2019.12.0 onwards or ProLiant Gen10 System ROM/BIOS firmware, and lists the DL360 Gen10 among affected platforms; an HPE Passport account is enough, with no active warranty or support agreement. Entitlement rules for other HPE products still apply, as do the HPE Software License Agreement terms. HPE was also still releasing firmware in 2026: the SPP v2026.07.00.00 support guide, created on 5 August 2026, lists DL360 Gen10 (U32) System ROM v3.66_04-01-2026 and, for the iLO 5 management controller, firmware v3.20.

We found no current HPE source confirming that HPE post-warranty or extended support can still be bought for this obsolete model, so ask HPE against your serial number. Independent HPE third-party maintenance is another route, providing diagnosis, parts and engineer visits beyond a unit's vendor cover.

  • No contract needed for Gen10 BIOS/SPP. HPE notice a00094704 (v2, 13 Jan 2025) says entitlement verification is no longer required to download Gen10 SPPs (2019.12.0 and later) or System ROM/BIOS firmware for ProLiant Gen10; these download with an HPE Passport account and no active warranty or support agreement. The DL360 Gen10 is on the notice's list of affected platforms. Entitlement rules for other HPE products still apply, and so do the HPE Software License Agreement terms. (support.hpe.com)
  • HPE was still releasing firmware in 2026. HPE's 'Service pack for HPE ProLiant Gen10 and 10 Plus, v2026.07.00.00' support guide (PDF created 5 Aug 2026) lists 'ROM Flash Firmware Package - HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10 (U32) Servers, v3.66_04-01-2026' and Integrated Lights-Out 5 firmware v3.20. (support.hpe.com)

What a maintenance contract needs to cover on the ProLiant DL360 Gen10

A DL360 Gen10 contract starts with the drive layout, which HPE built three ways: 8 SFF (with options for two more SFF, two NVMe or two dual uFF), 10 SFF NVMe Premium, or 4 LFF. Any of them could also take a rear +1 SFF bay or a dual uFF module carrying two M.2 drives, so list the drive options actually fitted. Inside are up to two first- or second-generation Xeon Scalable processors on an Intel C621 chipset (HPE does not support field upgrades from first to second generation) and 24 DIMM slots holding up to 3.0 TB of LRDIMM or 1.54 TB of RDIMM; HPE Persistent Memory is supported only with second-generation processors.

Up to two HPE Flex Slot hot-plug supplies provide redundant power: 500 W Platinum, 800 W Platinum (also listed in -48 VDC and 380 VDC high-voltage input versions) or 1600 W Platinum, the last being high-line (200-240 VAC) only. HPE does not support mixing two different supplies, so a replacement should match the supply already fitted. Confirm the iLO 5 management ASIC is in scope too, and list these parts when requesting a quote through the maintenance coverage builder.

Extend or refresh the ProLiant DL360 Gen10?

Extension on maintenance suits a DL360 Gen10 whose operating system and hypervisor still have room. HPE's Windows Server certification matrix lists the model from Windows Server 2012 R2 through to Windows Server 2025, its VMware matrix lists ESXi 8.0 to 8.0 U3 and ESX 9.0/9.1, and because Gen10 SPP and System ROM downloads need no support agreement, a unit on third-party maintenance can still take HPE's firmware releases.

The argument for refreshing turns on the processors. Broadcom KB 318697 marks second-generation (Cascade Lake) Xeon Scalable CPUs 'Deprecated' in 9.x and 'Discontinued' in a future major release, while stating that deprecated CPUs are still supported. KB 428874, updated on 18 September 2026, supports first-generation Skylake-SP in Deprecated Mode for VCF 9.x and says this 'will not be extended to VCF releases beyond VCF 9.x'; HPE's matrix adds that it 'will continue to support server with Skylake processor as mentioned in your support contracts'. A like-for-like step lands on platforms that already have HPE EOL dates: PCN a00146170 gives the DL360 Gen10 Plus an EOL start of 1 February 2025 and DISC of 31 May 2025, and PCN a00143611 schedules an end-of-life announcement for the DL360 Gen11 on 1 November 2027 and DISC on 30 April 2028.

  • HPE's Windows Server certification matrix lists the DL360 Gen10 for WS2012 R2, WS2016, WS2019, WS2022 and WS2025. (hpe.com)
  • HPE's VMware matrix lists the DL360 Gen10 for ESXi 8.0 to 8.0 U3 and ESX 9.0/9.1. It also points to Broadcom's CPU-deprecation KBs and says HPE 'will continue to support server with Skylake processor as mentioned in your support contracts'. (hpe.com)
  • Broadcom KB 318697 marks Cascade Lake Xeon Scalable CPUs (Platinum 8200, Gold 6200/5200, Silver 4200, Bronze 3200) 'Deprecated' in 9.x and 'Discontinued' in a future major release. The KB says deprecated CPUs are still supported. (knowledge.broadcom.com)
  • Broadcom KB 428874 (update dated 18 Sep 2026) says Skylake-SP (1st-gen Xeon Scalable) is now supported in Deprecated Mode for VCF 9.x, and that this support 'will not be extended to VCF releases beyond VCF 9.x'. (knowledge.broadcom.com)
  • The next generation, the DL360 Gen10 Plus, is already past HPE's end of sale. PCN a00146170 (v5, 9 Jul 2025) puts it in the EOL process from 1 Feb 2025, with DISC on 31 May 2025. (support.hpe.com)
  • HPE PCN a00143611 (v5, 20 Aug 2026) schedules end-of-life announcement (EOL-A) for 1 Nov 2027 and DISC for 30 Apr 2028 for the DL360 Gen11. A like-for-like step to Gen10 Plus or Gen11 therefore lands on a platform that already has HPE EOL dates. (support.hpe.com)
  • Standard warranty is 3-year parts, 3-year labour and 3-year onsite support with next-business-day response. HPE took DL360 Gen10 orders up to the 20 May 2026 DISC date, so recently bought units may still be under that warranty. Check each serial number. (support.hpe.com)

The DL360 Gen10 is a 1U rack server with up to two processors. It shares PCN a00139049 with the ProLiant DL380 Gen10, and the two entered HPE's EOL process on the same day, 1 May 2024. The DL360 Gen10 followed the DL360 Gen9 (see ProLiant DL360 Gen9 end of life), and the next model in the same line is the DL360 Gen10 Plus, covered on its DL360 Gen10 Plus end-of-life page.

Questions people ask about the ProLiant DL360 Gen10

Is the HPE DL360 Gen10 end of life?

Yes, for sales. It entered HPE's end-of-life process on 1 May 2024, passed its DISC date of 20 May 2026, and HPE's retired QuickSpecs list it as obsolete and no longer available for sale. HPE publishes no model-wide end-of-support date, so each unit's coverage depends on its serial number.

When does HPE stop supporting the DL360 Gen10?

HPE has not published a date for the model as a whole; it holds support dates per serial number, which you can see in HPE Support Center Warranty Check. The 31 January 2028 date listed by eosl.date is a third-party tracker's figure, not HPE's, and it sits less than two years after DISC.

Can I still download firmware for the DL360 Gen10?

Yes, for Gen10 SPPs and System ROM/BIOS. HPE notice a00094704 lets anyone with an HPE Passport account download Gen10 SPPs from 2019.12.0 onwards and ProLiant Gen10 System ROM/BIOS firmware for listed platforms, the DL360 Gen10 among them, without a warranty or support agreement; HPE's licence terms still apply. The SPP v2026.07.00.00 guide, created in August 2026, lists DL360 Gen10 System ROM v3.66_04-01-2026.

What came after the DL360 Gen10?

The next model in the same line is the DL360 Gen10 Plus. HPE's PCN a00146170 put it into the EOL process from 1 February 2025 with DISC on 31 May 2025, and the DL360 Gen11 already has an HPE end-of-life announcement scheduled for 1 November 2027.

Can I get third-party maintenance for a DL360 Gen10?

Third-party maintenance generally provides diagnosis, replacement parts and engineers, and can continue after vendor support for a unit ends. For a DL360 Gen10, a quote request should name the drive chassis (8 SFF, 10 SFF NVMe or 4 LFF), any rear bay, the processor generation and the Flex Slot supply wattage.
