| End-of-Life (EOL) Date Notification | 1 May 2024 | Vendor-publishedThe PCN says the DL360 Gen10 and DL380 Gen10 'are in the End Of Life (EOL) process as of May 1, 2024'. Opening the PCN needs an HPE account sign-in. The dates here come from the PCN's full text as indexed by HPE Support Center's public search, checked 2026-10-08. | HPE Product Change Notification a00139049: (Revision) HPE ProLiant DL360/DL380 Gen10 Servers - End Of Life (EOL) Process Dates (v12, 19 May 2026) |
| Discontinuation Date (DISC) | 30 June 2025 | Vendor-publishedThe PCN says DISC 'has been revised to June 30, 2025 for the ProLiant DL380 Gen10 server'. It defines DISC as the date after which orders are accepted or fulfilled based on factory inventory availability. | HPE PCN a00139049 (v12, 19 May 2026) |
| Obsolescence (OBSO) Date | — | Not published by the vendorv4 (25 Oct 2024) records 'Removed Obsolescence date'. The current PCN gives no OBSO date. | HPE PCN a00139049 version history |

| End of Service Life (tracker) | 31 March 2028 | Third-party trackerThird-party tracker, not an HPE date. Park Place says inclusion in its library does not guarantee it can support the device. Since the merger completed on 6 January 2026, Park Place also serves the former Service Express database, so treat the two as one source. | Park Place Technologies EOSL library: ProLiant DL380 G10 |
| End of Support (tracker) | 31 March 2028 | Third-party trackerThird-party tracker ('ProLiant DL380 G10' row, 'End of Support' column). It gives the same date as Park Place; we cannot tell whether the two derived it independently. | eosl.date: HPE ProLiant End of Life (EOL) Dates and End of Service Life (EOSL) Dates |
Where the ProLiant DL380 Gen10 stands today
That 31 March 2028 date needs context. Park Place lists the DL380 G10 in its EOSL library but says inclusion there does not guarantee it can support a device, and since its merger with Service Express completed on 6 January 2026 it also serves the former Service Express database, so Park Place and Service Express count as one source. The eosl.date tracker shows the same 31 March 2028 in its End of Support column, and whether Park Place and eosl.date derived it independently cannot be told. Neither is an HPE commitment.
HPE's published dates are about sales. PCN a00139049 placed the DL380 Gen10 in the end-of-life process on 1 May 2024, alongside the DL360 Gen10, and states that DISC 'has been revised to June 30, 2025 for the ProLiant DL380 Gen10 server'; past that point, by HPE's definition, orders are accepted or fulfilled based on factory inventory availability. Version 4 of the PCN (25 October 2024) removed the obsolescence date, and the QuickSpecs were retired at V77 (16 June 2025) under an undated banner. Support is per unit: once you are signed in, HPE Support Center Warranty Check returns the coverage for a submitted serial number (printed on the product label) service by service, each marked Active, Expiring Soon, Expired or Active in Future. HPE counts expiry from the purchase date for registered units and estimates it from the manufacture date otherwise.
HPE sets support end dates per unit, not per model. Use HPE Support Center Warranty Check at https://support.hpe.com/connect/s/?card=wc. Sign in to the HPE Support Center, enter the serial number from the product label and click Submit. The results show each service type with effective dates for current, past and future support, plus a status: 'Active' (end date more than 90 days away), 'Expiring Soon' (less than 90 days), 'Expired' (end date passed less than a year ago) or 'Active in Future'. HPE says a warranty's expiry is based on the purchase date if the product was registered with HPE; otherwise it is estimated from the manufacture date. What still works after HPE support ends
HPE has kept the DL380 Gen10's BIOS and SPP downloads open to owners without a contract. Under notice a00094704 (version 2, 13 January 2025), Gen10 SPPs from 2019.12.0 and ProLiant Gen10 System ROM/BIOS firmware download without entitlement verification, using an HPE Passport account and no active warranty or support agreement; the DL380 Gen10 is a listed platform, and licence terms still apply. HPE's SPP v2026.07.00.00 support guide (created 5 August 2026) includes 'ROM Flash Firmware Package - HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 (U30) Servers, v3.66_04-01-2026', together with version 3.20 of the iLO 5 management controller firmware.
Hardware cover is a separate question. We could not find a current HPE document confirming that HPE sells post-warranty support for a DL380 Gen10 now that it is obsolete; request a price from HPE against the serial number. An independent option is third-party cover in place of HPE's own support, providing diagnosis, parts and on-site engineers on terms not tied to HPE's dates for each unit.
- No contract needed for Gen10 BIOS/SPP. HPE notice a00094704 (v2, 13 Jan 2025) says entitlement verification is no longer required to download Gen10 SPPs (2019.12.0 and later) or System ROM/BIOS firmware for ProLiant Gen10; these download with an HPE Passport account and no active warranty or support agreement. The DL380 Gen10 is on the notice's list of affected platforms. Licence terms still apply. (support.hpe.com)
- HPE was still releasing firmware in 2026. HPE's 'Service pack for HPE ProLiant Gen10 and 10 Plus, v2026.07.00.00' support guide (PDF created 5 Aug 2026) lists 'ROM Flash Firmware Package - HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 (U30) Servers, v3.66_04-01-2026' and Integrated Lights-Out 5 firmware v3.20. What a maintenance contract needs to cover on the ProLiant DL380 Gen10
Storage is where a DL380 Gen10 maintenance schedule needs the most detail. The 2U chassis takes up to 30 SFF drives (24 front and 6 rear), or up to 19 LFF drives spread across 12 front, 4 mid-plane and 3 rear bays, plus 2 rear SFF, with a ceiling of 20 NVMe drives. A unit built out that far has drives at the front, mid-plane and rear, and each position belongs on the asset list with its drive type.
Behind the storage are up to two first- or second-generation Xeon Scalable processors (HPE does not support field upgrades from first to second generation), 24 DIMM slots (3.0 TB maximum with LRDIMM, 1.54 TB with RDIMM) and the iLO 5 management ASIC. Power comes from HPE Flex Slot Platinum hot-plug supplies at 500 W, 800 W (with -48 VDC and 380 VDC high-voltage input variants listed) or 1600 W (with a -48 VDC variant), so DC-powered sites need spares matched to that variant. Build any request for server third-party maintenance from this list.

Extend or refresh the ProLiant DL380 Gen10?
A DL380 Gen10 running Windows Server is well placed to stay on maintenance: HPE's certification matrix covers it on Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022 and 2025. Its VMware listing runs from ESXi 8.0 to 8.0 U3 and on to ESX 9.0/9.1, with HPE saying it will continue to support Skylake servers 'as mentioned in your support contracts'. With BIOS and SPP downloads still open without a contract, a storage-heavy 2U unit that is doing its job is a fair candidate for continued hardware cover.
Virtualisation estates face a firmer limit. Broadcom KB 318697 marks Cascade Lake Xeon Scalable CPUs (Platinum 8200, Gold 6200/5200, Silver 4200, Bronze 3200) 'Deprecated' in 9.x and 'Discontinued' in a future major release, and under KB 428874, updated 18 September 2026, first-generation Skylake-SP is supported in Deprecated Mode for VCF 9.x, a status Broadcom says will not be extended past VCF 9.x. That makes the processor generation in each DL380 the deciding factor for long-term VMware plans. If you move, both step-up generations already carry HPE dates: under PCN a00146170 the DL380 Gen10 Plus has been in the EOL process since 1 February 2025 and reached DISC on 9 July 2025, and PCN a00143611 dates the DL380 Gen11's EOL-A to 1 November 2027 and its DISC to 30 April 2028. Refurbished alternatives can be priced in the refurbished ProLiant configurator.

Related models
The DL380 Gen10 entered HPE's EOL process on 1 May 2024 under the same PCN as the ProLiant DL360 Gen10, but the PCN states a DISC date specifically for the DL380, so check the DL360's own page rather than assume the two match. The DL380 Gen10 took over from the DL380 Gen9 (see ProLiant DL380 Gen9 end of life), and the next model in the same line, the DL380 Gen10 Plus, is covered on its own DL380 Gen10 Plus end-of-life page.

Questions people ask about the ProLiant DL380 Gen10
Is the HPE DL380 Gen10 end of life?
It is end of sale. HPE put it into the end-of-life process on 1 May 2024, its DISC date of 30 June 2025 has passed, and the retired QuickSpecs list it as obsolete. HPE has not dated the end of support for the model as a whole.
What is the DL380 Gen10 EOSL date?
HPE does not publish one; coverage end dates are set per serial number and shown in HPE Warranty Check. Park Place Technologies' EOSL library, a third-party tracker, gives 31 March 2028, and eosl.date shows the same date, but neither is an HPE date.
Can I still get BIOS and SPP updates for the DL380 Gen10?
Yes. HPE notice a00094704 removed entitlement checks for Gen10 SPPs from 2019.12.0 and for ProLiant Gen10 System ROM/BIOS firmware on listed platforms, including the DL380 Gen10, so an HPE Passport account is enough, though licence terms still apply. DL380 Gen10 (U30) System ROM v3.66_04-01-2026 appears in SPP v2026.07.00.00.
Will the DL380 Gen10 run ESXi 9 or Windows Server 2025?
HPE's matrices list it for Windows Server 2025 and for ESX 9.0/9.1. Broadcom has marked Cascade Lake processors 'Deprecated' in 9.x and supports Skylake-SP in Deprecated Mode for VCF 9.x without extending that beyond 9.x, so check which CPU generation each server has.
What came after the DL380 Gen10?
The next model in the same line is the DL380 Gen10 Plus, whose HPE EOL process began on 1 February 2025, with DISC following on 9 July 2025. HPE has also scheduled an end-of-life announcement for the DL380 Gen11 on 1 November 2027.
