ProLiant ML30 Gen10 end of life

The ProLiant ML30 Gen10 has no model-wide HPE date for end of life or end of support: the retired QuickSpecs list it as obsolete and no longer for sale but leave that undated, and PCN a00136611, the dated notice that turns up in searches, belongs to the ML30 Gen10 Plus. Each ML30 Gen10's cover depends on its own serial number in HPE Warranty Check. The tower still received System ROM v3.76 (dated 28 May 2026) in HPE's August 2026 service pack, and Windows Server 2022, the newest release HPE lists for it, has a Microsoft mainstream end date of 14 October 2026.

Every row names its basis. A third-party tracker date is not the vendor’s own, and “not published” means exactly that.

Where the ProLiant ML30 Gen10 stands today

Two separate products share the ML30 name in HPE's Gen10 era, and their status differs. PCN a00136611, HPE's EOL notice for the ML30 Gen10 Plus, gives that model an EOL notification date of 1 January 2024 and DISC on 30 June 2024. The ML30 Gen10, whose first HPE QuickSpecs revision is dated 5 November 2018, has no model-specific notice that HPE Support Center searches on 8 October 2026 could find, and its retired QuickSpecs (V24, 18 March 2024) carry a banner with no date.

Because HPE dates support per unit, the check is the serial number. Signed in to HPE Support Center Warranty Check, submit the serial shown on the product label; each service type then shows its coverage dates and a status of Active, Expiring Soon (within 90 days), Expired or Active in Future, with expiry based on the registered purchase date or, failing that, estimated from the manufacture date. Expect labour and onsite cover to differ from parts cover: outside APAC and Japan, the QuickSpecs standard warranty is three years for parts but one year each for labour and next-business-day onsite support. eosl.date, a third-party tracker, puts End of Support at 31 October 2029, yet its release date for the same model, 1 July 2017, does not match the 5 November 2018 date of HPE's first QuickSpecs revision.

Finding the date for your own unit

Support end dates are per unit, and HPE publishes no model-wide date for the ML30 Gen10. Use HPE Warranty Check at https://support.hpe.com/connect/s/?card=wc: sign in to the HPE Support Center, enter the serial number from the product label and click Submit to see coverage dates and status for each service ('Active', 'Expiring Soon' within 90 days, 'Expired', or 'Active in Future'). HPE bases warranty expiry on the purchase date if the product was registered; otherwise it estimates it from the manufacture date. What still works after HPE support ends

An ML30 Gen10 owner needs no contract for System ROM firmware or Gen10 SPPs. The ML30 Gen10 is among the platforms named in HPE's notice a00094704 (version 2, 13 January 2025), which stopped requiring entitlement verification for System ROM firmware and for Gen10 SPPs from 2019.12.0 onwards; signing in with an HPE Passport account is enough, and no active warranty or support agreement is needed. HPE's August 2026 service pack (v2026.07.00.00, support guide created 5 August 2026) carries 'ROM Flash Firmware Package - HPE ProLiant ML30 Gen10 (U44) Servers, v3.76_05-28-2026'.

Hardware repair is where an owner has to plan. HPE extended or post-warranty support for the ML30 Gen10 is not confirmed by a current HPE source in our research, so ask HPE about your serial number, and compare an independent alternative to HPE's own support from a third-party maintainer, which typically covers diagnosis, parts and engineer visits.

  • No contract needed for Gen10 BIOS/SPP. HPE notice a00094704 (v2, 13 Jan 2025) removes entitlement verification for Gen10 SPPs (2019.12.0 and later) and System ROM firmware; these download with an HPE Passport account and no active warranty or support agreement. The ML30 Gen10 is on the list of affected platforms. (support.hpe.com)
  • HPE's 'Service pack for HPE ProLiant Gen10 and 10 Plus, v2026.07.00.00' support guide (PDF created 5 Aug 2026) lists 'ROM Flash Firmware Package - HPE ProLiant ML30 Gen10 (U44) Servers, v3.76_05-28-2026'. (support.hpe.com)

What a maintenance contract needs to cover on the ProLiant ML30 Gen10

The ML30 Gen10 is a 4U tower, rack-mountable on HPE's optional sliding shelf (874578-B21), built around three chassis: 8 SFF hot-plug, 4 LFF hot-plug, or 4 LFF non-hot-plug with an optional two more LFF. Every chassis also has two half-height media bays, and anything fitted there belongs on the asset list. Memory is four DDR4 Standard Memory UDIMM slots to 64 GB (4 x 16 GB at 2666 MT/s), and the single processor socket takes Xeon E-2200, 9th Gen Core i3 or Pentium G in the final QuickSpecs; Xeon E-2100 parts were retired from the QuickSpecs on 6 April 2020 (Version 12), so older towers may carry them.

Power options are few but region-sensitive. One option is a 350 W non-hot-plug unit in E-star Bronze (85%) or Gold (92%) form; the other is a 500 W Flex Slot Platinum hot-plug redundant supply. For UK and EMEA spares, the QuickSpecs say only the 350 W Gold and 500 W supplies meet EU Lot 9 for CE marking from 1 March 2020, and that the Bronze 350 W (820303-B21) should not be ordered in countries that require CE marking, so check the part number on any replacement supply. The iLO 5 ASIC handles management. What third-party maintenance covers sets out how a contract treats parts like these.

Extend or refresh the ProLiant ML30 Gen10?

For an ML30 Gen10 on Windows Server 2022, the newest release HPE's certification matrix lists for it (alongside 2016 and 2019), extension on maintenance is a reasonable plan. HPE does not list Windows Server 2025 for this model, and Microsoft's lifecycle page gives Windows Server 2022 a mainstream end date of 14 October 2026 and an extended end date of 15 October 2031, so the operating system's dates belong in the plan alongside the hardware's.

VMware is the harder constraint. Broadcom KB 318697 marks the Xeon E-2100/E-2200 (Coffee Lake and Coffee Lake Refresh) 'Deprecated' in 9.x and 'Discontinued' in a future major release, even though HPE's VMware matrix lists the ML30 Gen10 for ESXi 8.0 to 8.0 U3 and ESX 9.0/9.1. The next model in the same line, the ML30 Gen10 Plus, already has HPE EOL dates of its own, and for the ML30 Gen11 PCN a00143611 sets EOL-A for 1 August 2027 and DISC for 31 January 2028. Pricing refurbished HPE ProLiant servers alongside a further maintenance term puts both sides of the decision in view.

The ML30 Gen10 followed the ML30 Gen9. A search for its EOL notice returns PCN a00136611, which covers the ML30 Gen10 Plus, the next model in the same line, rather than the Gen10; the ML30 Gen11's dates sit in a different notice, PCN a00143611. The ProLiant Gen10 family page and the server end-of-life checker cover the rest of the range.

Questions people ask about the ProLiant ML30 Gen10

Is the HPE ML30 Gen10 end of life?

For sales, yes: HPE's retired QuickSpecs list the ML30 Gen10 as obsolete and no longer available for sale, though without a date. For support, HPE has published no model-wide date; the dated notice PCN a00136611 is for the ML30 Gen10 Plus, a different model.

How do I check if my ML30 Gen10 is still under HPE warranty?

Use HPE Support Center Warranty Check: after signing in, type the serial number printed on the product label and submit. Each service shows its dates and a status such as Active, Expiring Soon or Expired. Outside APAC and Japan the standard warranty was three years for parts but one year for labour and onsite support, so the services can end on different dates.

Does the ML30 Gen10 support Windows Server 2025?

In HPE's Windows Server certification matrix the ML30 Gen10 appears for 2016, 2019 and 2022; Windows Server 2025 is not listed. Microsoft's lifecycle page gives Windows Server 2022 a mainstream end date of 14 October 2026 and an extended end date of 15 October 2031.

Can I still download ML30 Gen10 BIOS updates?

Yes, without a support contract. The ML30 Gen10 is a listed platform in HPE notice a00094704, which dropped entitlement checks on System ROM firmware and on Gen10 SPPs from 2019.12.0, so an HPE Passport account is enough to download them. HPE's SPP v2026.07.00.00 guide lists ML30 Gen10 System ROM v3.76_05-28-2026.

What came after the ML30 Gen10?

The next model in the same line is the ML30 Gen10 Plus, which HPE gave an EOL notification date of 1 January 2024 and DISC of 30 June 2024. Separately, HPE PCN a00143611 schedules an end-of-life announcement for the ML30 Gen11 on 1 August 2027.
