Where the ProLiant ML110 Gen10 stands today
With no dated HPE milestone, the ML110 Gen10's status rests on one document. The retired QuickSpecs (Worldwide V36, 16 September 2024) carry HPE's banner that the base products are now obsolete and no longer available for sale, and that is HPE's only public end-of-sale statement for the model. Searches of HPE Support Center on 8 October 2026 for ML110 Gen10 end-of-life notices returned only platform-wide software PCNs, not a server EOL notice with EOL, DISC or OBS dates.
Support is therefore a matter of each unit's serial number. Sign in to the HPE Support Center, open Warranty Check, enter the serial from the product label and click Submit; the result shows coverage dates for each service and a status of Active, Expiring Soon (within 90 days), Expired or Active in Future. HPE bases expiry on the purchase date where the product was registered and otherwise estimates it from the manufacture date. The third-party tracker eosl.date shows 31 October 2029 in its End of Support column for this model; that is the tracker's figure, not an HPE date, and no Park Place EOSL page was found to cross-check it.
Support end dates are per unit, and HPE publishes no model-wide date for the ML110 Gen10. Use HPE Warranty Check at https://support.hpe.com/connect/s/?card=wc: sign in to the HPE Support Center, enter the serial number from the product label and click Submit to see coverage dates and status for each service ('Active', 'Expiring Soon' within 90 days, 'Expired', or 'Active in Future'). HPE bases warranty expiry on the purchase date if the product was registered; otherwise it estimates it from the manufacture date. What still works after HPE support ends
The ML110 Gen10's System ROM and SPP downloads do not depend on a contract. HPE notice a00094704 (version 2, 13 January 2025) lifted entitlement verification for Gen10 SPPs from 2019.12.0 and for System ROM firmware, and lists the ML110 Gen10 as affected, so an HPE Passport login is enough to download them with no warranty or support agreement in force. HPE's v2026.07.00.00 service pack guide (created 5 August 2026) lists the ML110 Gen10 (U33) ROM Flash Firmware Package at v3.66_04-01-2026.
Repair cover is less clear-cut: no current HPE source we found confirms that post-warranty or extended HPE support can be bought for this model, so check with HPE using the serial number. A contract for HPE third-party maintenance generally includes diagnosis, replacement parts and on-site engineers, on terms set by the contract rather than by HPE's per-unit dates.
- No contract needed for Gen10 BIOS/SPP. HPE notice a00094704 (v2, 13 Jan 2025) removes entitlement verification for Gen10 SPPs (2019.12.0 and later) and System ROM firmware; these download with an HPE Passport account and no active warranty or support agreement. The ML110 Gen10 is on the list of affected platforms. (support.hpe.com)
- HPE's 'Service pack for HPE ProLiant Gen10 and 10 Plus, v2026.07.00.00' support guide (PDF created 5 Aug 2026) lists 'ROM Flash Firmware Package - HPE ProLiant ML110 Gen10 (U33) Servers, v3.66_04-01-2026'. (support.hpe.com)
What a maintenance contract needs to cover on the ProLiant ML110 Gen10
Three details on the ML110 Gen10 decide which spares a contract must carry. The drive cages come in three types that cannot be mixed: up to 8 non-hot-plug LFF SATA bays, 4 hot-plug LFF bays upgradeable to 8, or 8 hot-plug SFF bays upgradeable to 16. Memory is six DIMM slots, one per channel, taking RDIMMs only, up to 192 GB (6 x 32 GB at 2933 MT/s); LRDIMMs are not supported. The single socket holds one first- or second-generation Xeon Scalable Bronze, Silver or Gold processor of up to 16 cores and 110 W, and management runs through the iLO 5 ASIC.
Power and cooling are linked on this model. Builds use either a fixed 350 W or 550 W ATX supply (HPE describes the 550 W ATX as non-redundant) or HPE Flex Slot hot-plug units of 500 W or 800 W Platinum or 800 W Titanium, and the Flex Slot Platinum supplies need the RPS Enablement Kit, which supports two. ATX supplies do not support the redundant fan option, and HPE requires the redundant fan with an 800 W redundant supply when the server holds SAS SSDs, has 15K SAS drives in a second cage, or runs in an A3 operating environment, so a drive or PSU change can force a fan and power change too. The tower stands 4.5U and can be rack-mounted on HPE's optional sliding shelf (874578-B21). Give these details when requesting hardware break-fix support.
| Specification | Detail | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Form factor | Tower (4.5U). An optional sliding shelf (874578-B21) allows rack mounting. | support.hpe.com |

Extend or refresh the ProLiant ML110 Gen10?
On operating-system support the ML110 Gen10 is well placed to keep running: HPE's Windows Server certification matrix includes it for five releases, 2012 R2 through 2025, and the VMware matrix for ESXi 8.0 to 8.0 U3 and ESX 9.0/9.1. A single-socket tower that runs a Windows workload, has current firmware from the Gen10 SPP and has its drive and power layout documented for the maintainer is a reasonable candidate for extension.
The VMware picture is less forgiving. Broadcom KB 318697 marks Cascade Lake CPUs, including the Bronze 3200, Silver 4200 and Gold 5200/6200 series, 'Deprecated' in 9.x and 'Discontinued' in a future major release, while KB 428874 (update dated 18 September 2026) allows first-generation Skylake-SP only Deprecated Mode in VCF 9.x and rules out extending that beyond VCF 9.x. Hosts that need to follow VMware past 9.x are the ones to plan a move for first. For the ML110 Gen11, the next model in the same line, HPE PCN a00143611 schedules an EOL-A date of 1 January 2029 and DISC on 30 June 2029. Refurbished HPE ProLiant servers are another option to compare.

- HPE's VMware matrix lists the ML110 Gen10 for ESXi 8.0 to 8.0 U3 and ESX 9.0/9.1, with a pointer to Broadcom's CPU-deprecation KBs. (hpe.com)
- Broadcom KB 318697 marks Cascade Lake Xeon Scalable CPUs (including the Bronze 3200, Silver 4200 and Gold 5200/6200 series) 'Deprecated' in 9.x and 'Discontinued' in a future major release. (knowledge.broadcom.com)
- Broadcom KB 428874 (update dated 18 Sep 2026) limits Skylake-SP (1st-gen Xeon Scalable) to Deprecated Mode in VCF 9.x, with no extension beyond VCF 9.x. (knowledge.broadcom.com)
- ATX power supplies do not support the redundant fan option. HPE requires the redundant fan with an 800 W redundant supply in some cases: SAS SSDs, 15K SAS drives in a second cage, or an A3 operating environment. Check this when replacing PSUs or adding drives. (support.hpe.com)
- The next ML110 in HPE's line is the Gen11 (inferred). HPE PCN a00143611 (v5, 20 Aug 2026) schedules EOL-A for 1 Jan 2029 and DISC for 30 Jun 2029 for the ML110 Gen11. (support.hpe.com)
- Standard warranty is 3-year parts, 3-year labour and 3-year onsite support with next-business-day response. (support.hpe.com)

Related models
The ML110 Gen10 is a single-socket Xeon Scalable tower that followed the ML110 Gen9, and the next model in the same line is the ML110 Gen11. Because HPE has given the ML110 Gen10 no dated EOL notice, dates published for other Gen10 servers should not be read across to it. The ProLiant Gen10 family page covers the rest of the generation, and owners who also run the DL360 Gen10 can check it separately on the ProLiant DL360 Gen10 page.

Questions people ask about the ProLiant ML110 Gen10
Is the ML110 Gen10 end of life?
HPE's retired QuickSpecs say it is obsolete and no longer available for sale, but HPE has published no dated EOL, discontinuation or end-of-support milestone for it. Support depends on each unit's serial number.
What is the ML110 Gen10's end-of-support date?
HPE gives no model-wide date; instead, each unit's coverage dates appear in HPE Support Center Warranty Check when you submit its serial number. The 31 October 2029 figure on eosl.date belongs to that third-party tracker, not to HPE.
Does the ML110 Gen10 still get System ROM (BIOS) updates?
Yes. The ML110 Gen10 is on the platform list in HPE notice a00094704, so its System ROM firmware and Gen10 SPPs (2019.12.0 and later) need only an HPE Passport account. HPE's v2026.07.00.00 service pack, documented in August 2026, carries ML110 Gen10 System ROM v3.66_04-01-2026.
What came after the ML110 Gen10?
The next model in the same line is the ML110 Gen11, which already has HPE dates: PCN a00143611 plans its end-of-life announcement for 1 January 2029 and its DISC for 30 June 2029.
Does the ML110 Gen10 need a redundant fan when I add drives?
In some cases. HPE requires the redundant fan with an 800 W redundant supply for SAS SSDs, 15K SAS drives in a second cage or an A3 operating environment, and ATX supplies do not support the redundant fan option. Check this before swapping PSUs or adding drives.
