Dell’s Table 2 sets the XE9780 beside the 6U XE9680. Alongside the move to Xeon 6, the table shows new HGX boards, direct-attached NVMe in place of PERC, and a chassis that grows from 6U to 10U.

The XE9780 is Dell’s air-cooled Xeon 6 host for an eight-GPU HGX B300 or B200 board. The XE9785 keeps the 10U air-cooled HPM-plus-GPU-sled design with AMD EPYC 9005 processors and a choice of AMD Instinct MI355X or HGX B300; the XE9780L puts the same four processors and both HGX boards into a liquid-cooled 3 OU node for IR7044/IR7050 racks. The 6U XE9680 is the predecessor.
